Instead of making four thousand different picture threads I'll just post them all here. I hope to keep this thread "alive". I'll start it off with some pictures of a shop at a local funeral home that I can use whenever I want for whatever I need. For those of you who haven't been really following me I also maintain this place. Comments Appreciated!

Thanks, I'll post a few pictures of the truck too. Right now I only mow about nine accounts with that set up, but I stay fairly busy with landscaping and whatnot. My ad in the paper just came out today for fall cleanups so hopefully I'll be getting some calls there. I plan on buying a Quick 36 Super Fox before next season, probably late winter.

Good choice, the quick's look like great mowers. You will love having a commercial walk behind. I have about 10-12 accounts and I just upgraded from a 21 inch to a toro 44 hydro with the tru-tak. I can't believe how much time it has saved me. Ya post a few more pics of the truck, that thing is in awesome shape for a 94.

Kennedy Landscaping
09-10-2008, 10:47 PM
The truck is a 1994 Ford F-150 and has a 351 Windsor with about 650 miles on it at this point. The transmission has 73,000 and there is no rust on the truck that I have found. It also has Manaflow dual exhaust with 3 1/2 inch chrome pipes under the bumper. Interior is in great shape as well. It did have some running boards on it when I bought it but those where the first things to go. It gets washed two to three times a week and waxed at least once a month.

When I turn 18 and can do what I want, this truck will probably get the front lifted to be level with the back and, all sorts of things such as, amber lights, 4 corner strobes, and things like that to make it more of a work truck.

Thanks, yeah I'll probably keep the YTH 180 and use it for tow behinds and such. Won't hardly get used for mowing though. This Saturday I'll be towing and areator with it while over seeding a lawn.:dizzy:

PS: The 351 has ALOT of power. lol

wtf is cross canadian ragweed?

http://www.crosscanadianragweed.com/

An ATL Texas Country band

Lawnfreak I have loved that body style of the 92-96 Ford. IMO it still looks good and will for a long time... In time I think it will just as classic as the 73-79 Ford body styles.

That is a great looking pickup.

Kennedy Landscaping
09-11-2008, 09:29 PM
Thanks guys, again when I turn 18 I'll probably add things like ambers and what not. I'll definetly take some pics of the 20 footer tomorrow when I'm pulling it. I am planning on putting an electric brake controller in some time, not sure when though. Also would like to raise the front end to be level with the back. I had thought about plowing with this truck but I don't think that would be wise for me since its only a 1/2 ton and I don't have many plow jobs yet anyways. Right now I have to commercials and one residential that I know of.

09-12-2008, 10:03 PM
Thanks S Man, well I didn't get to pull the 20 footer today. I was going to use it for a lawn renovation tomorrow, haul in dirt, areate, overseed and all of that good stuff. Went over to the account today and found water, ALOT of water. So it'll be midweek before I get to this job now which really screws up the schedule. Had so much rain lately I am WAY behind. In the corner where the two privacy fences are there will be a waterfall there, so that'll be another expense for the customer, since I'll have to install drainage. Anyways enjoy the pics!

Got some work done around the house today after it finally stopped raining since Wednesday. Myself and my friend from Riley Lawn Service were tinkering around in the shop and decided to do some outside work. We installed a small pondless water feature (my first), trimmed bushes and did some garden maintenance, and then mowed. Oh and then I went and checked out the all terrain tires on my truck.

Then ended up letting school out before lunch due to the soverity of the weather. It was the first time I had ever been let out for rain.

There are to many IMATURE kids on this site. (and there are some mature ones) I agree in having commercial equipment, but if his stuff is making him money, thats good for him. Hes happy, Im happy. You can tell a kid from a business man, a kid wants "cooler" toys. A business man buys tools that he needs to get the job done, and buys it when its profitable to do so. Its not wise to buy a bunch of "cool" stuff if you dont NEED it, Now I dont know how many accounts this young man has, but, I bet he dont need "cool" stuff now. MAKING MONEY. Thats the name of the game

Everyone has to start somewhere. There's a lot of ignorant people out there that either have a lot of debt and/or a lot of "help" from mommy & dad, etc. They think that just because they have the nicest equipment out there that everyone else should too. Get over yourself.

If you're going to criticize, atleast try to do it construtctively.

looks good, i woulda had ur back but i didnt see the thread in time. i agree w/ dgZtrak737 and lawn_boy.

the one thing about leveling the front of your truck (and ive done MANY) is when pulling a large trailer the front will become higher than the back. level looks great, but is not a good idea on a work truck that tows on a regular basis..imo/experience. keep up the good work! "kids" like you are few and far between, dont let these other guys talk crap about you. i have thought many times of leaving LS b/c of the crap that you just got on this thread.

Thanks guys, when the trailer or equipment aren't out in the field I usually do preventative maintenance to keep everything in good shape. Just painted some paint chips on the trailer tonight. And beleive it or not I even shine the tires on the trailer. And wash the tuck two or three times in one week. I have an over seeding job coming up on Monday. I'll take some more pictures

Doesn't look like nice mulch, but maybe thats what you guys use down there. Also don't use that plastic edging, just cut a nice deep edge. I used it on 1 job, and didn't like it to much. JMO

I agree, I hate that stuff! I layed about 200 feet of it today. Took forever and was a pita! just dig a nice deep edge or use bricks.

Kennedy Landscaping

I don't really like that plastic edging either. Just because of the fact that its a PITA to lay. If you notice I just did the edge on the other bed. I think I'll probably start doing it that way from now on.

i won't use that bagged mulch i have found its not the best quality, and it wears down alot faster then the mulch you can buy in bulk.

Just a little update. I am planning on removing the deck from my YTH 180 so I can use it for tow behinds and more things like that. I highly doubt it will get used now that I have my Gravely. But of course if the Gravely breaks down then what will I do. I think I'll probably look and see how hard it is to put on and remove and then make my decision.

If the deck on your husquavarna is mounted like most any other riding lawn mower then it should just be a few pin's that you have to pull and unhook the belt and pull it out.. The first time you do it, it seems really complicated but it is actually quite simple..

Thanks, When that truck was bought it had no rear bumper. It has an old tag light mounted up on the frame of then truck that is now disconnected. Many of the Ford trucks were not manufactured with rear bumpers for some reason in the early to mid 90s. Its a Bundy Bumper, Very strong. I put new diamond plate grip pads on it to give it a "new look"

i am curious about how well the B/D wb works w/ the prosteer. is it somewhat jerky or does it seem fairly smooth? how much more sensitive is it than a hydro?

yeah we dont run medicals, we do go to full cardiac arrest, and car accidents with injuries besides that we run all fire. we have an ambulance service right in our coverage area, so until the cities we cover become so big that they cant keep up, which is happening more and more. we wont be running medicals, i would say it is a year or two away. but we still run around 650 fire runs as a department. what is coverage area??? ours is like 48'000 people and around 22 square miles i want to say, plus in one of the cities we cover they dont want hydrants so fires up there are always crazy. it is a really nice area and they kinda do what they want.

KCfireman

Just landed my biggest cleanup so far today. Hope to have pictures of the place on Friday if I can get all caught up on mowing in the meantime. Had to spend the evening getting equipment ready for cleanups. Filters and all that good stuff. Got the hood off of the YTH 180 for repainting. Going to put another coat or two of clear on tomorrow and hopefully have it back in comission by Friday. I'll need it to pull a big log from the back yard to the trailer.

Ok so get this, I pull up to this ladies house in a nice truck wearing a company hoodie. I give her an estimate made from Quick Books, very professional looking, even gave her a business card. And before I leave she says I have a mower in my garage if you need one. I was like, no thanks I've got 5 I can use.lol She'll be surprised then when my trucks rolls up in front of her house loaded with nice equipment and all
Just thought I'd post this, Kind of excited for myself

Well, In the few days I've had off for rain this week, I repainted the hood on my tractor, it had gotten pretty messed up from going under trees and just everyday hard use. Now it is only going to be used for tow behinds and such, so I put on three coats of paint and same of clearcoat.
Enjoy

Some pictures of the cleanup today. Took these when we started but haven't gotten any afters yet. Got up at 6:30, went and mowed 7 yards and got started here about 1:00. And left about 6:30, I'll be going back in the morning to finish it up. Its alot of work. As far as that tree, I was able to manuever my truck back there and hook onto it. When I showed up she wanted us to do alot more work than she originaly had said. So the price went from 475 to 750. Enjoy The Pictures Theres Alot Of Them

I have a restricted which allows me to drive to all of my jobs and such.
Everything I have was paid for by me except the trailer which my dad bought a couple of years ago. And the Ram 1500 is his DD, I am able to use it though if I need to. I just frown at kids who have had everything handed to them.

I had my leaners permit when I was 14, gotta have an adult with you then, but after I turned 15 I took drivers ed and they gave me a restricted at the local courthouse. When I turn 16 it automatically lifts the restrictions

the permit system here in SC works the same way, except you get your permit when you turn 15, keep it for six months and have to have a 21yr or older licensed adult with you to drive, and when you have had that for 6 months you get your restricted which lets you drive anywhere you want from 6am-8pm, and if you can prove your working and have to drive in the time between those hours for work you get something on your license that lets you do so...

Well, got it all finished up today. The home owner was amazed that we were able to do it. There was actually a stone path that leads from the front of the house around to all of the beds in the back which we found and uncovered. While we were working there we gained two more lawns to maintain. The property next door and a property up the block. We even found a sidewalk out in front of the house that had about six inches of dirt covering it. In most of the pics things werent blown off yet but they are now. Took two people almost 20 hours to do it. And we hauled off five trailer loads and five truck loads of debris. She loved the work, I gave her a few cards to pass on and she wants me back in three weeks to do leaves again. This was a pretty good sized cleanup, can't really see all there was to do in the pictures but there was plenty. My sister was a huge help to me also. She wanted to earn some money so I was like ok come to work for me this weekend.
Enjoy The Pictures( Glad this project is done though, it felt so good to receive that check though)
Enjoy

Lawn Freak, don't take this the wrong way, but take a year or two and work for a commercial landscaper. Learn the trade a little. Wanting to own a landscaping business is great, but you have to know how to landscape first.

I only comment because you say you are a "perfectionist." No, RedMax Man is a perfectionist.
