Not sure what i would do if i didnt work. I dont think to many other people r gonna be able to take the day off. Plus i would just have to go back out on saturday. I think I will have the flag flying as I do everyday. I would love to take the day off to show my respect but I dont think it is gonna happen.

I have worked all the 9/11's since 2001. I was a senior in HS in 2001. The though that it is 9/11 does cross my mind quite a few times during the day though. Makes me remember exactly what was going on and what I was doing all that day. I'm not sure I would consider not working though.

Sounds like an excuse not to work. You must be a solo guy who does not have to much work.

I'll be working, 9/11 is not a Holiday, nor should it be treated as one. It is a day of rememberance and observation.

I will be working. I agree

I can just see it now. "Come down for our 9-11 20%% off our ALREADY low prices!!"

I just don't think so

I'd like to work thursday, but dont think I'll be able to. Heavy storms are expected for Thursday and Friday, and then Hurricane Ike is suppose to bring more heavy rains for the weekend. Just hope I dont get too far behind.

Most of the lives lost on 9/11 were people at work. Office workers, fire fighters, police officers, airline workers and many others. I think the best thing we can do to show those filty, ignorant individuals who planned and brought forth the attack, is to work hard and carry on as good Americans should. Never forget those who were lost, but let it not bring us down for that was the intention.

I will be working all day just like my fellow brothers & Sister Firefighters did on 9-11 in NYC, The Pentagon, and in Pa. I will carry on living my life like we all have since that day, But I " WILL NEVER FORGET THOSE WHO GAVE ALL " on that dark day. I, like all my fellow Fire/Rescue brothers will never look at this date (9-11) the same as we did, But no matter where we are and what we are doing on this tragic day's anniversery I will be thinking of all who lost their life and the many lives that this tragic day touched.

I fly my AMERICAN FLAG everyday with pride and respect for what it stands for and never forget those who fought the many fights to give us what we have today. But on this day like every 9-11 my flag will be flown alittle lower in the sky. While I'm working, I will stop and pay respect to those that were lost when each of those memerable times hit on the clock.

Tomorrow I will have a large project to do, and it just happends to be a day were I have all my guys working (3 full-time, 2 on-call) 4 of of these guys happen to be firefighters.

Will show my respects by flying the flag all day.

Agreed.
You show more respect by getting out there and working and treating life as normal.

On 9-11 and the days following I spent at the firehouse providing additional coverage (24/7 - 5 days straight) while my county's Urban Collapse Rescue Team (Maryland Task Force -1) were sent to the Pentagon. I did continue on the 12th cutting grass (canceled all work on the 11th) but I changed my days around so I could cut all the lawns closest to the Firehouse. I had my business partner driving the work truck while I followed in the FD utility and carried the FD Portable radio on my shoulder while cutting. Luckly my business was just growing and didn't have more then 12 to cut that week.

I'm out and working. I didn't display a flag regularly until 9-11-01. It's up every day now.
