Is it possibly a Classen, I thought the Ryan's had the engine sitting a little more forward and a little different linkage.

Yep. That is exacyly right. It IS a Classen. As I think about, I don't think Lesco EVER used Ryan aerators, anyway.:)

I have the exact same lesco aerator and it sucks for pulling cores. Unless the lawn was saturated, I had better luck pulling cores from concrete. My little lawnaire 4 from ryan that I have had for some 15 years pulls cores in dry or wet soils.

I even put what I thought were a larger tine on the machine but still doesn't pull cores.

Anyone have the same experience?

I used an older model Ryan textron? that was dual chain driven and worked amazingly. I like them alot better the the newer Ryans that only run off one chain.

I just bought a LESCO stand on aerator. It is a claessen painted green. I found out that since John deere bought lesco, they just want to get rid of them. $2500 less than the claessen.

This isn't the stand on that classen just put out is it? I was unaware that lesco had a stand on aerator.

yes this is the stand on aerator - SA-25. I have one - love it. Could not pass up a $2500 saving on another.

Jerrydean,

That's awesome. Was that just your local lesco, er I mean John Deere Landscapes or might this be company wide. I plan on checking with my local store on monday.
