I usually run a end of season ad, with a special. This year, because of the rain, I'm still trying to get caught up. There is rain all this weekend, so doubt I'll run a special this year. Just hope there is enough nice days left, to finish all I have booked.
we are still going strong 4-5 jobs a day. we raise prices at the end of the season. material is scarce and prices go up. wont do a driveway for under $150.00 and getting 15-18 a sq...

Why would you lower prices? You just did the neighbors drive for 200 dollars and you will quote the guy next door 175.00 . You will start a downward spiral , piss off a customer , and damage your reputation. Material is up , fuel is up , food is up . Once you lower your prices you reset the base line .
exactly, we already have idiots out there doing driveways 7-8-9 c a square foot. Why in gods name would you lower your prices at the end of the season unless your just plain stupid. I know for me I need to get at least 150.00 or its not worth it for me to pay labor, material, time, etc.......
Maybe if all of us stood up and didnt lowbid we all would be making good money.

Ive been standing firm at 17 psf and i am bound and determined to not accept anything less than that. Ive had folks try to bring me down from 17 where i explain to them it is absolutely not an option for me to drop my pricing. I will drop it one or two pennies but only for clergy, police officers and military personel but not for anyone else.
To be quite honest i will most likely be demanding 18 this coming spring.
And what about this coming spring when the pricing for sealer and fuel will most likely automatically increase. If you drop your prices for this fall you will have to fight like hell this coming spring to raise them back up again. Not only that but you will have to fight to bring them back up to what they were this past spring and then fight some more to raise them even higher to compensate for coming increases in sealer and fuel prices.
If anything we all should be running adds telling people to hurry up and contact us so they can get on our customer lists before it gets to cold for us to service them. We neded to push the fact that letting the drives go all winter without proper maintenance will lead to even more freezing and thawing damage.

Gasoline just went up thirty cents per gallon since i made my last post in this thread.
Anyone who would drop sealing prices would be making a grave mistake.

I am doing ok, no reason to lower prices. Infact I think we should all consider raising prices. :weightlifter:
