Nope. Nice place to visit, but I wouldn't want to live there.
JoeGeist; we just spent a week in Oviedo, third week of November, my cousins live there.

Dude, you would not like to live here? I see you live in NY so I know real estate is cheaper as well as the cost of living, And did you notice that Disney is only 30 minutes away.:)

Up here, if someone asks me how long to get somewhere, I can tell them. Down there, the answer always starts with 'Well, with traffic..." Hell no, I wouldn't want to live there.
10 yrs ago, I would visit my cousin in his subdivision. He lived in a nice little neighborhood (little, I said) off a two lane rd. Now, his neighborhood is hundreds and hundreds of houses stacked on top of each other, off a 6 lane rd., houses everywhere on land that used to be cow pastures.
When I was down there, I looked in the yellow pages for 'lawn care' and 'landscaping', 6 full pages to choose from. There's enough LCO's running around here, but nowhere near that much competition.
Yes, it is true the cost of living is lower here, but we dont have the big 'swings' of the economy, either. We just get by living in the middle, not quite poor and certainly not rich. We havent had any housing market crashes, or huge corporate layoffs, so we just keep keeping on.
Hey, my daughter loved Disney. We went for the Christmas Spectacular, 7pm- midnight. Highly recommended, free hot cocoa and cookies, 3 minute wait max. for all the rides, spectacular fireworks and X-mas lights, and REAL (at least for Florida) SNOW!. Only made one mistake- took my 5 yr. old daughter to the haunted mansion at 10 pm- yeah, probably shouldn't have done that.

Yes, I have to disagree with you Chuck on the Disney, I just renewed our annual passes, I got a ten year boy that can not get enough, and my wife is like a 32 year old kid. They have the annual concert series that Epcot, got to see all kinds of free entertainment. MattfromNY - you are right Disney is amazing at x-mas. When your daughter gets a little older like 11 or 12 bring her down for Universal Halloween Horror Nights. Simply amazing.
CK get back to me on your thoughts on Pricing down here so I do not low ball.
