I swapped out my factory blades for Gators on the Gravely 260Z a couple of mowings ago and it seems that they leave a very narrow strip uncut, just about in the middle of the left most blade. Due to the excessive rain here the lawn was a bit wet for both mowings and a bit longer than I usually allow it to get. It went five days both times where generally it has been cut every three or four.
Not sure if this matters but should those blades be staggered at 90 degrees? Or something else.

gator blades are not that great. the teeth on the blade create lift so the blades dont cut as well. your probably taking in to much grass or you have alot of grass in the deck. the same thing happened to me last year.but which ever id stick with the factory blades or the hi lift blades. dont know much about the hi lift but i heard some great reviews.

Thanks, I may just sharpen the OEM's again and figure a lesson learned. I thought they would be better at mulching but it really does not seem to make a difference.

I only use the gator blades if I am doing leaves. Low lift blades give the best cut on my 260Z.

I agree with Albery. I only use my gators during leaf season. They do not cut regular grass well at all but shread the hell out of leaves.

Thanks guys, ya just busted my bubble. I have 2 Toro commercial walk behinds that I was getting ready to order Gator blades for just because I need news blades. If Gators are not that great what do you recommed other than just OEM hight lift blades and keep 'em sharp?
