I've been working in landscaping for 4 years here in Indianapolis. Saved up and got my own walk-behind, trailer, and other equipment. I've had 5 permanent residentials the past 2 years. I have been getting huds contracted out to me an avg. 10-15 yds a week. I have another full-time job so I haven't been able to take on too much work. I've had many requests for work from area homeowners and just recently the apartment complex that I live in. I am really looking to be doing more landscaping work because every week I seem to meet someone who needs work but because of not having the time I have to turn them down. But now I am looking to take on these jobs.
My questions:
1.) Whats the best way to market company?
2.) What are the best type of jobs to take when starting out, residential, huds, commercial, apartment complexes?
3.) Should I wait to buy more equipment until I have the work, or should I buy the equipment so I can take on these jobs (I have the money to buy the equipment)?
Thanks again.

What to take on?: Personally I would start small on residentials if I were you, but then again if you have experience you would probably be ok doing complexes and things like that.
Equipment?: If you are confident you will be staying in this industry for a while and have prior experience with equipment and things like that then you would probably be just fine buying equipment. If you feel questionable on the fact that you will be is business a year or so down the road, just rent the equip. and then after a while slowly start buying what you need.
Hope I helped out a little bit.

Hey thanks.....I probably should have used the search button which I could easily have found viewpoints on some of my questions. But thanks for the advice.
