The Geographer

Go-iLawn is looking for a few willing individuals to test a new industry changing lawn service software application free of charge. It allows professionals to create square footage quotes without driving to a property by utilizing parcel boundaries, address information and aerial photography. This is nothing like Google Earth and is far more useful. If you would like to learn about the online application, please visit www.goilawn.com. If you are interested please send me a message.
Thanks,
The Geographer

I'd be interested in hearing more, but for now GE Pro works great. I've wheeled off properties and then measured with GE and it to be within 1 foot on 200 linear feet. There is still nothing like seeing it though, and images do not show newer developed land. Let's hear more.

Just so you guys know you can do the same thing for free with GIS maps. Everything in my area is on GIS maps, and I bet the whole country is.

Just Google "GIS (your county/city name)"

Its the same maps that the OP uses to work with thier website.

Excellent idea....but how does it account for grass height, rutts, bumps and all the other little stuff that can affect a bid?

We are a little overwhelmed by the responses to our software so if you are interested send me an email at ggibson@gisdynamics.com. Let us know what geographic areas your business covers ie county or cities, etc.

Thanks

Overwhelmed?

Shouldn't these have been questions you had asked *before* you created it?

Ok everyone. I apologize for the delayed action here. These demos I just posted the info for will be held every Wednesday till the end of March. I invite everyone to join. I will go back through the thread and respond to your requests or questions. I just wanted to bump the thread and make everyone aware that we are indeed full go and the product is out there and being used by many different landscaping and turf management companies. On the FAQ on the www.goilawn.com website it details our coverage areas if you have any questions about that. Please do not hesitate to email me at dgibson@gisdynamics.com. I'm newly in charge of the internet campaign. When this thread was started in the fall there were many issues that came up that made the demo situation impossible. We are currently offering 10 address transactions for 9.95 for those who would like to try the product without purchasing a large amount of transactions. The free trial is no longer available. Thanks for your interest everyone. Have a good one.

I have just started my business this past year and have been using google earth as well as driving to the potential customers properties and measuring. When I found out about Go iLawn, I checked it out and was very impressed! the measurement tools blow away what is on google earth and the imagery is great. the slope/elevation tools give me an idea of terrain and I will save so much on gas! The price is a steal too, just think about how much it costs to send someone out to measure a property... gas, time, mileage, personnel, etc. If you haven't checked it out yet I strongly recommend it.

this go ilawn thing is good for measuring parking lots and grass and counting trees and shrubs but its too blurry to accurately see where mulch beds are, let alone measure them! i was hoping for more!

Maybe just your area? We use it for that. I have measured mulch beds with it then done it by hand and it is very close.
