I just don't have the time needed to fix my lawn. I have a 1/4 acre treeless lot in midwest Wisconsin. My yard is thrashed. I have another thread around here somewhere.
Guy 1
Spray for weeds 70 bucks
3 weeks from now, core aeration and overseed Kentucky Bluegrass and 15% Rye. Fertilize. 310 bucks.
He preferred this method over dormant seeding although he said he would do that if I wanted. He seems to not want to wait to see if it would take.
Guy 2
Spray 53 bucks
Comeback and aerate and top seed. Much cheaper but not as much detail.
He did not really come out with what he is using.
My question is,
What should I be asking these guys or looking for? I know exactly what the first guy is doing but he is spendy. the second guy, not so sure and cheaper. This is building to be a "get what you pay for"?
Is there any "trick questions" I can get these guys with? I dont just want to fork out money.
