get ready, here it comes again..........
whatever you read is all a matter of opinion. i own a GMC 2500HD that is decked out to the balls, and it hauls 3k in the bed and 8k on the trailer and you don't feel it. i also operate an F-350 dump truck with a V10 that can pull down a house. it's just whatever you like.

Everyone has their preference. Most prefer the chevy and ford. some prefer the dodge. IMO thats my opinion, the Ford super duty takes it. To me it is the best built truck. Very solid all the way around. Dodge has a great engine (Cummins). And gm has comfort and a nice engine with the D-max. But someone else will not agree with me and say im wrong so i shouldnt of even posted. ha! Go with what you like!!

They are all machines and they will all break something eventually. All 3 make good trucks IMO it's alot about your personal preferance.

They are all great, so as long as it has an engine and the other usual things a truck should have, then buy it, and you'll be better off then you were before.

And it starts...:rolleyes:haha My preference is Dodge and GM. I had a 6.0 Powerstroke so that left a bad taste in my mouth. Also, we snowplow and the Ford seemed to eat front end parts. But again, to each there own.:)

Currently running all GM. Had experience with the other two and ....... well......now I have all GM. All HD's 5 with 6.0 and 1 2008 with the d-max. After this truck - to me thus far there is nothing out there that is close.

But either way - if you buy new there all nice and should help you out whatever model you get.

6.4 Powerstroke baby ... My harley ran a 14.43 1/4 mile in 4 wheel lock i was surprised cuz i was figuring around 16.5 to low 17's... its got an 8" rize suspension lift with 37" toyo mt's on 22's..so i was expecting that to slow it down.. Powerstroke all the way lol

Maintain them properly and they will all last long enough to make you happy. In my opinion (I have owned all) Chevy makes the best all around truck. I choose to stay with dodge just because of the Cummins. Fords are a proven truck to run for a long long time, just a little weak in power for me. However, I have not had a powerstroke.

They all have ups and downs.

Dam!!! Thats a bad truck!! Where have you been??!! Lets see more pictures!

I bought in mid April and i have been working on it ever since then just whenever i get a little extra spending money for it. Right now it has about 8200 miles on it.

8 inch RIZE suspension with 4 link conversion, shocks and driveshaft are diamond plated chrome, 22" HELO wheels with 40" toyo mt's, I just put these on 2 weeks ago i sold my KMC spys because they had too much black and very little chrome and now i went with 40's instead of 37's. Its got a banks 6 gun tuner with a 6" RBP exhaust and High Ram air induction.

Yeh that DPF ruins everything...I love how the 6.0/6.4 sounds with straight pipe. Very mean.

IMO I ran a 08 F250 4x4 excab XL and it was a peice. The engine was waay waaay under powered. Inside 3 months I traded an employee my new 08 for an 03 f250 with a v10 and was plenty happy.

So if you were going to buy new on a ford (which for a work truck is what i would go with) Id go with a BIG gas engine (preferably a v10)

yea yea yea gas mileage, Malarchy, if I babied that 4.6 that the 08 had, I could get 15 mph going down hill from McCall to Boise and 12mph back, So I averaged about 12-13.

In the V10 as long as I took it easy I averaged 11-12.

NOT enough difference and with the v10 I had the power that was needed and the rpms usually hung down under 2k.

With the 4.6 i was constantly running 3.5 k on rpms, engine was wokring too hard which made for cruddy milage.

I personally own a dodge v10 and I get 11-13 out of it all the time.

Ford f250 with a V10, Id buy one in a heart beat if I had some free cash.
I actually perfer the older body style, Id go with 03-05 IMO

I personaly like Chevy been born and Rasied on them so thats my pref but THE BIG "B" if I get on Craigs list and someone is selling a work truck for the right price I dont care who makes it shoot SMART CAR can make it for all I care just be sure it call put a 5x10 trailer

Learn to proof read. The 6.4 powerstroke runs very well. Ive driven several and they were as fast if not a bit faster then my d-max. Go try a couple. they run very well. and its mpg not mph.

Also, 03-04 were not very good for the v-10 either...05+ is much better.

You'll like them I promise you..I know they'll look good on an old dodge but im going to warn ya ahead of time 40inch toyos are going to run into the 2-3 grand range depending on wheel size. Mine are 22's and i gave $2400 for my 40's and that was with a $300 discount.

Really? Where at? My dad bought it brand new in 2005 and ive done all the extras to it not too long after that and sold it in March to Shelby Smith in Jonesboro, AR and he sold it to a guy in Lousiana just like it was.

Here in the ft worth area... Ive seen it in pictures to.. Did you use auto trader to sell it?

brandon9996
09-29-2008, 09:09 PM
No i had it on ebay for about a week and i took it to jonesboro to a truck accessories place to have it detailed and thats where Shelby seen it and asked about it and them guys told him it was for sale and he called me and about a week later he met up with me and wrote a check for $40,000 and i let him have it. I'd almost lay money that he used auto trader because he owns about 40-50 vehicles and sells them for a living. He's got several trucks like my 08 , Fx4's, King Ranches and that good stuff.
