The nice steep hillsides allways help to achieve a more natural looking feature.

It took 2 John Deere 200 clc excavator to place most of the rocks in the second picture.
It is a little over 20' tall and a little over 16' wide, it took about 250 tons (18truckloads) of stone to complete. All of the rocks are larger than they appear.
All of the stone for the water feature was brought in from a Montana Quarry.
It is running about 42,000 gph.

The first one is local stone, it only took about 25 tons to complete.
It is apr. 6' tall and 8' wide at the bottom, it's running about 16,000 gph.
This was constructed with a mini excavator.

what kind of stone is that similar to, tennessee fieldstone large and med mix, it looks good and more natural, but most people here in georgia use river rounds large and med mix and pour small river rock in between and in the bottom.

ANC... man I must have missed this thread when you posted. That is incredible! I would love to see some construction shots if you have any. I am sure the slope presented some serious challenges in addition to the opportunity for such a natural appearing feature. Post more!
