I am totally fed up dealing with "women drivers". Studies prove that women drivers are many more times likely to cause accidents (per mile driven).
Today, a young female driver put our truck & trailer into the ditch (crossed the lane) before she sped off without stopping. My employee suffered injuries that caused him to go to the hospital. When the sheriff's dept showed up, he asked if we got a plate number...we did not cuz it happened too fast.
Delivery drivers (UPS & others) have been "rear-ended" six times in the past 3 years -- while attempting to deliver products to us -----ALL by young female drivers. (never a male driver).
We conduct "defensive driver training" twice per year. I tell my guys to be on the lookout for female drivers .... especiailly if they are on their cell phones. I think this has helped us to avoid accidents, but we can't avoid them all.
We have even been "hit" by drivers when stopped at a stop light...every time it was a 'female driver'.
On a daily basis, we experience dangerous driving. We took a poll about a year ago. All 9 applicators said they were scared of women drivers instead of men. (one of the applicators is female).
BTW, I have replaced the brakes on my daughter's Ford Escape twice this year.
Anybody else scared of female drivers????
rscvp, thanks
I could go on and on because our drivers experience this every day of the week. Sure .... some men are idiots while driving, but the overwhelming cause of

I agree 100%, I never could figure out why a womans auto insurance is always cheaper than a mans...should be WAY MORE! Be on the lookout...they are everywhere...my sister in law got her license this year...and 7 days later she was already in 2 accidents...both her fault. I will not let anyone in my family get in the car with her.

We have some HOA properties along some major streets with big media strips in the center. A very high percent of women are constantly talking on their phones and will get within a few feet of the back of our trucks before they move to the other lane. They are simply not paying attention. When we trim trees and pick them up we stop in one lane and put cones our 100ft behind the truck and have a flag guy trying to get them into the other lane and no way will I step off he curb. Who in the hell are they talking to all day? Is any work getting done in America any more.

Is your equipment alright? I agree that they are terrible drivers. I'm a cadet here in my town and I can tell you after being in a police car doing 125 down our main drag here I not only practice defensive driving but offensive. Not to brag but I can probably out drive alot of the kids in my school.
This thread is worthless with out pictures!!!!
I want to see some pictures of those dangerous....
Wait a minute did you somebody said Toblerone??? I want one.

6 years ago a woman driver almost killed me. I was sitting at a light and she was doing around 55mph when she rear ended me. My neck was broken at C2,3&5. Damn lucky that I'm not a quad or dead. I asked here what the hell happened. She was putting on her make up. I've never hit a woman, but, if I could have gotten out of my mangled car, she would have been the first. She carried minimum liabilty driving a Ford Excursion. That's real smart.

I 100% agree with the poster. Being on the road as much as we are, we obviously see alot more than the common 9-5 driver. When I get cut off or I am put in a bad situation I instantly look to the driver and expect a female. Now I am not sexist or anything but it's true! Ask anybody who basically drives for a living and the most dangerous drivers are women on cell phones. They don't understand that our trucks carrying 500 gallons of liquid don't stop like their little passenger cars. Drives me crazy!:hammerhead:

You hit the nail on the head once again Larry. A couple of years ago a woman on her cell phone slamed on her brakes on a freeway on ramp. I had plenty of distance to stop but a lady on her cell phone slamed into the back of me.
Several weeks later my wife was rear ended by another woman on her cell phone at a four way stop.
On Saturday, in my wifes car, a woman on her cell phone at a stop light in front of me failed to go when the light turned green. I honked my horn. She stuck her head out the window and yelled, "CAN'T YOU SEE I'M ON THE PHONE?!!!" I layed on the horn and she flipped me the bird. Jezz

Like a bunch of posters here I have driven a ton of miles.
And I have had my own experiences with all sorts of drivers.
To this day the driver that scares me the most is the elderly.
Then followed by the teenager, regardless of gender or a new driver, meaning some one whom has never had a drivers license before.
The last three accidents I have been involved in, and all of which I was not at fault, involved elderly drivers.
The last one happened earlier last year, February 2007, wherein an elderly gentleman rear ended one of my trailers while I was stopped at a well illuminated intersection.
Thankfully I wasn't injured nor my trailer damaged but the airbag deployment in the gentleman's Neon caused the old feller a several day hospital stay.
All of this said I have had more than a few close calls due to female drivers - most notably an incident where a woman (on a cell phone of course) failed to yield on a highway overpass on ramp. She was driving a Caddy suv, and the vehicle contained three other women, of which I remember at least one of them on a cell phone as well.
I was paying attention and noticed the suv and the fact that the driver did not look in my direction prior to entering the over pass.
I guess I'm getting old because I didn't honk at her but when I stopped about eight miles down the road at a quick mart type store I noticed her there as well - still on the cell phone while fueling the suv.
I did speak with her about driving more carefully and her attitude was one of "so what".
When I told her that wasn't too smart her response was that she was "safer" in her suv than whatever I was driving. So I just pointed over to my loaded 5cyd dump truck and trailer containing a tractor and said if I had hit her suv with my 12+ tons of equipment she would know it.
She still didn't care - oh well.

come to think of it, all the wrecks ive worked are either women or elderly people.

My son drives a tractor trailer for a living, he passed this on to me, if you dial # 77 here in Jersey, it will connect you to the SP and you can make a complaint while on the road. If they can't get to the car, they will pass it on to the local cops and they will make every effort to make a stop.
If you have a CB in your truck, channel 9 is monitored by the state police in every state.
Check in your area to see if there is a number you can call while on the road. Be proactive.

I tried #77, but "the call cannot be completed as dialed". but I'm in Iowa.
I started driving at age 14, and I have never "caused" an accident. I also agree with all the above posts. Seems women & the elderly are the cause of most accidents. We got 44 tons of fert delivered today (two full semi loads), so I asked both drivers who they were most scared of. Both said young girls on cell phones. I guess that says it all.
In 1980, I "tee-boned" a Cadillac. Crushed it pretty good (actually totaled it) with my ChemScape tanker truck. It was an elderly lady who swerved over to the left lane attempting to pull into her driveway. When the cops got there, they measured skid marks (from my tanker truck), etc. I was going at 25 mph when I saw her car go into the opposite lane of traffic. So I just kept driving. Low & behold, she pulled an abrupt right (right in front of me) trying to get into her driveway. Then she continued to speed and ran into her house. (I'm guessing she was confused between the brake pedal & the accelerator pedal). When she got out of her Cadillac, she said, "Didn't you see me signal?" I told her "No I did not". The Dallas PD gave her a fine, and I got off Scott free. Plus she had to pay for a new ChemScape bumper.
Insurance rates have to change, cuz female drivers (and elderly drivers) scare us everyday. I've been forced off the road many times ... ALWAYS due to women drivers.
I followed one today...she sped up - then slowed down in "no passing zone" areas. I tried to pass, but I couldn't. Several cars behind me were trying to do the same. When it became 4-lane, all vehicles passed her. Yep ... she was talking on her cell phone. In a 65 mph speed limit, her speed ranged from 50 mph to 70 mph. She would slow down going down hills, but she sped up going downhill. So much for fuel efficiency.
Now I'm thinking there should be a "hunting season" on young women drivers with cell phones. Why the F are they talking on a telephone when they're trying to operate a motor vehicle which they have trouble dealing with in the first place???

i see a lot of accidents that involve women. Had one over the summer. 2 teenage girls driving too FAST lost control of their car and turned it over and in the process when it hit the curb it cut the fuel line and caught on fire. We lost both of them. Very Sad but its reality. Don't drive fast and talk on your cell cause eventually it will get you in a wreck and hopefully you escape w/o injuries but eventually your luck runs out. Stay SAFE and ALERT out there guys.

I HATE driving anymore because of cells and women.....
Was one my way to work this morning on a four lane divided highway and was leaving a reduced speed zone of 35 mph which increased back up to 65 mph, I was in the left hand "PASSING" lane (From the driver's handbook)# Give your signal before you move into the left lane.
# Do not return to the right side of the road until you can see the tires of the vehicle you passed in your rearview mirror.
# You must return to the right side of the road before coming within 200 feet of any vehicle coming from the opposite direction.
preparing to pass a Dodge Caravan with a Jeep pick-up in front of it in the right lane.
It was like this STUPID woman in the Caravan couldn't wait for me to pass and go on my way !!! NOOO, She jumped right out in front of me and sat right there leaving a half car length between her and the Jeep. Then NEITHER would push the dam gas and go (their est. speed around 50), This went on for a mile with me following her a little close (I know...) then I blew a cork and laid in the horn a long time. The guy in the Jeep (right lane) finally sped up so I could pass this STUPID broad in the right lane, As I went by I looked over and YEP, Diarrhea of the mouth and oblivious to anything around her.
I drive about 140 miles a week too and from work out here in the country and run across this same thing 8 plus times a week, It's my opinion there should be a yearly driving test with general rules of the road questions just to remind people how to friggin drive.
I also recommend everyone to attend a defensive driving course (which I have) to sharpen your awareness of how to react to these cell phone yakking idiots when they try to take you out.
