Dave and others,
What is the formula for hanging mini lights in trees. Width x height =
Or do you just keep hanging till it looks right?
I am feeling like there is a majic formula so we can tell what we need just from circumfrence and so forth.

I've heard there is a magic formula, height x width x something else, but I just look at it and guess from experience. It's kinda hard to measure the height of a tree anyway. it always seems to be more than you think, as trees don't look that big outside. Also, it depends how you decorate it. corkscrew, brandy snifter, cross, random cross, charlie brown, tightwrap limbs, tight wrap trunk, random etc. Your bulb spacing plays into it as well. a 6 inch spacing minilight 100 light set will look better and you'll use much less lights overall per tree, than a 3 inch spacing mini-light set. 6 inch space lights also allow you more space between strands for a random light look. tighter spacing is better for patterns like corkscrew and charlie brown.

thanks Dave, I am @ the HBL seminar and someone had asked about this. I figured if anyone had the answer it would be you. You are the man.
