Just wondered what creative ways you have used to put down top dressing? I am looking into starting top dressing but with going into winter don't want to spend the big bucks on a top dresser. Will a 3 point cyclone spreader work?

Use a back pack blower (powerful one) and blow it out - cheap, dirty yet effective. check organic side big thread on this subject.

Don't any of you guys ever think "used"?

And, no, take it from the voice of experience, a cyclone spreader won't work. The material bridges over the outlet and the agitator isn't sufficient to get it moving.

Thank you for your replies!! I was afraid of a cyclone spreader not working. Also thanks for the suggestion of the Organic thread.

Boy I must be crazy but we use a wheel barrel, shovel and rake. Just dump a pile of top dressing and rake it out.
