View Full Version : Hello everyone Been in the dumps
Hello all Sorry for being gone for sometime
I have been in the dumps....... Right now I have only 8 accounts
and I have Sheffield Finance Company barking up my tree..See I owe them 4half months on there w/b Scagg and they want me to give it up to my dealer for Repo Hell I owe almost 3,000 on the dam thing..... The reason of my failure is because of my broken back I got back in Aug 29 while working with the department of Corrections.. In a state van accident.. Well to make a long story short ever since my accident I have been loosing clients Everytime I do a yard it feels like doing three yards Heck I am only 36 but my health is more important......... My attorney has warned me against doing any more yards because of the Workman Comp Private Investigators might catch me.. So I have been taking it easy and slowly loosing my clients.... I only have 8 clients left but hell they really pay great and i hate to lose them.. So I take caution when leaving for my work doing lawns..once every two weeks......... But I cannot wait I love doing lawn care all sooooooo very much....... Well all So hows life treating you all in the good ole Lawn care business.....I would love to hear from ya.....

Sorry to hear that Ron..
How is your back feeling? What is the diagnosis? Will you recover enough so you can get back into full swing?
Did you get any kind of settlement from the accident? Pending Suit?
Don't get caught.. You'll really be up 'shitz creek'

The following is an email I received recently. I think you need to see it. I understand your feelings. Its natural. But you have only been posting depressive stuff for quite some time now. Its really time to take control of your emotions. Maybe the following story will help. :)
Michael is the kind of guy you love to hate.
He is always in a good mood and always
has something positive to say.
When someone would ask him how he was doing,
he would reply, "If I were any better, I would be twins!"
He was a natural motivator.
If an employee was having a bad day,
Michael was there telling the employee how to
look on the positive side of the situation.
Seeing this style really made me curious,
so one day I went up to Michael and asked him,
"I don't get it! You can't be a positive person all of the
time. How do you do it?"
Michael replied, "Each morning I wake up and say to
myself, you have two choices today.
You can choose to be in a good mood or .
you can choose to be in a bad mood.
I choose to be in a good mood".
Each time something bad happens,
I can choose to be a victim or...
I can choose to learn from it.
Every time someone comes to me complaining,
I can choose to accept their complaining or...
I can point out the positive side of life.
I choose the positive side of life.
"Yeah, right, it's not that easy," I protested.
"Yes, it is", Michael said.
"Life is all about choices.
When you cut away all the junk, every situation is a choice.
You choose how you react to situations.
You choose how people affect your mood.
You choose to be in a good mood or bad mood.
The bottom line: It's your choice how you live your life."
I reflected on what Michael said.
Soon hereafter, I left the Tower Industry to start my
own business. We lost touch, but I often thought
about him when I made a choice about life instead
of reacting to it.
Several years later, I heard that Michael was
involved in a serious accident, falling some 60 feet
from a communications tower.
After 18 hours of surgery and weeks of intensive care,
Michael was released from the hospital with rods placed
in his back.
I saw Michael about six months after the accident.
When I asked him how he was, he replied
"If I were any better, I would be twins!
Want to see my scars?"
I declined to see his wounds, but I did ask him what
had gone through his mind as the accident took place.
The first thing that went through my mind was
the well-being of my soon-to-be-born daughter",
Michael replied. "Then, as I lay on the ground,
I remembered that I had two choices:
I could choose to live or...
I could choose to die.
I chose to live."
"Weren't you scared? Did you lose consciousness?"
I asked.
Michael continued, "...the paramedics were great.
They kept telling me I was going to be fine.
But when they wheeled me into the ER and I saw the
expressions on the faces of the doctors and nurses,
I got really scared. In their eyes, I read "he's a dead man".
I knew I needed to take action".
"What did you do?" I asked.
"Well, there was a big burly nurse shouting questions at me",
said Michael. "She asked if I was allergic to anything".
"Yes, I replied".
The doctors and nurses stopped working
as they waited for my reply.
I took a deep breath and yelled,
"Gravity."
Over their laughter, I told them,
"I am choosing to live.
Operate on me as if I am alive, not dead."
Michael lived, thanks to the skill of his doctors,
but also because of his amazing attitude.
I learned from him that every day
we have the choice to live fully.
Attitude, after all, is everything.
"Therefore do not worry about tomorrow,
for tomorrow will worry about itself.
Each day has enough trouble of its own".
( Matthew 6:34)
After all today is the tomorrow
you worried about yesterday. :)

65Hoss made a great post. Let's not detract from that.
hoss that is a great story. every wk i spend a good while on the phone with my only child that just has a hard time figuring it out.
good an bad things going to happen. but u have the choice
of how to handle it. do u react or do u do what is going to bring the best results, without the whining. whining sure takes a loto
time.
having said that ron. i do understand an encourage u to try for help from family or friends. but it really gets down to the fact that it really is up to u. i guarantee u can handle it. might take a few hits. but up aint up until u know whats down. good luck brother.
one other thing i believe is, most time we create our situations by the choices we make.later now

MOW ED

As tough as it sounds Ron, sub them out or get rid of them. I know they pay great but 8 lawns are not gonna pay your comp claim if you get bounced for working while injured. The lawyers for the state would carve you to pieces if they found you working at a physical job, especially bouncing up and down on a mower.
Your primary job holds your bennies and retirement and if you don't want that then you better start advertising for some more lawns.
I know its sounds bad but think about selling the mowers. I hate to ask so I won't but hypothetically speaking-- if a guy was workin legit and had a paper trail of paying insurance and taxes as well as showing an income from a second job then that could possibly also be used for income lost while injured at the other job. I believe each state has seperate comp laws and I am not assuming that you aren't working legit, just tryin to give you another angle.
Good Luck my friend and keep your chin up.
