Well, I bought this beast last week, and thought I'd post some pics for youse guys to critique

Pretty nice truck - I wish it were a 3/4 ton, but hey, it pulls everything I need and has zero problems going off road. I didn't actually wash it before I took the pics, so it's a bit dusty.

MJS, good looking truck, looks really clean to me. Do plan to put a different exhaust system on it too? I have already told myself that the next truck I buy will be a 3/4 ton. I haul too much for a 1/2 ton at times. Good luck with the truck

MJS...sorry about jacking the thread...lol i get all excited when I see another red truck like mine. Anyways, whats yours got for a motor?

I'd say he has a 350 but I'm not positive on that.

Lawn Freak...when I test drove mine I thought it had a 350, the motor obviously looked like a 350, the original owner thought it had a 350 until I looked at the sticker under the hood and it said "5 Liters" which is a 305. Personally, I wouldn't have looked at it knowing that it had a 305, but the truck was so clean and well taken care off that I had to buy it. I have exhaust on it now and it sounds mean, almost like a 350.

It's a 350 vortec V8. . . so yeah, no problem as far as towing is concerned, and it gets pretty good gas mileage.

No, I'm happy with the regular exhaust - with a 350, it sounds plenty big anyways. Yeah, I would rather have a 3/4 ton, but the Z71 package kinda makes up for that (at least it has the heavy-duty frame). Bought it cash, so I can't really complain.

Thanks guys for all the positive comments.

Theres no heavy duty frame on a Z71, its just bilstien shocks, some skid plates and different control arms and torsion bars. I also believe it comes with different wheels, but you see the same ones on the 4x4 trucks as well

Sorry, my response was kinda confusing - I meant that this truck has a heavier duty frame in addition to the Z71 package. (at least that's what I've been told - I could be totally wrong) Whoever had it before me customized/upgraded almost everything. And yeah, it does have different wheels.

Thanks, it's got approx 131,000 which is really not a problem on the 350, and it had a new tranny put in at 130,000.

I had a 95 1/2 ton long bed 4x4 with the 305 once...hated that truck...it was just sick...no low end...at least not enough for me...had had an 88 1/2 ton long bed 4x4 with the 350 before that so I got spoiled. traded the 95 off after about 18 months on a 00 GMC Z71 with the 5.3. It was OK...now I have this 04 2500HD with the 6.0...wow...plenty nuff power for me. GO ahead diesel guys...ridicule me!

Well, I have some really old pictures from a while back - I guess I could put those up if you want. . . nothing recent. . . Probably wait until the spring to take a company shot.
