I am slit seeding my lawn tomorrow and today I was pulling up some weeks around a particularly badly damaged area and found a lot of grubs. My question is can I put down grub control the same time as i put in the new seed and starter fertilizer?
Are grubs not active right now? I don't want to put in new seed only to have the grubs go to town on it

Yes, this is prime active grub season, at least it is here where I am. You don't list where you live...
Grub control, if you have seen them, would be smart to apply now. Make sure you get a grub control that will kill them now and not one of the "preventative" types.

Sorry, I am in Rhode Island. So it is ok to use grub control when you are putting in new seed? It wont harm the germination of the grass?

no, an insecticide won't hinder seed germination.
