Well , it IS getting real close to the end of the season, at least here in N. Fl. Any calls you might get is gravy this time of year. Just a thought......

I did an ad on Craigslist earlier this year. I dind't quote any prices, just services. Got two nice clean-ups @ $70/hr. Only one call who wanted a clean-up for little or nothing. I passed and laughed at her as I was leaving her driveway!!

i saw one for $10 per cut. one reason is the wife cant find a job after taking off to have a 2nd kid and we don't have the xtra $ do any ads anywhere else.

With advertising, as a rule you get what you pay for.

You're as well if not better off just lower your prices.

I got some great customers from craigslist this year. I did a few quotes where I heard "the neighbor boy does it for $10 bucks" but overall I added a couple of my best clients from craigslist.

There’s an expression “Happy wife happy life” not sure it rings true though.

I'm not in your industry, never done the CL, and don't intend to. Although I don't have personal experience with CL, I do know what it is like in similar situations. There are bid for work sources in abundance. I equate putting a project on these sites as like throwing a piece of raw meat into a pack of hungry wolves. It's great for entertainment, but not so great for the buyer. Your wife is wrong, but I completely understand the thinking behind it. In one sense, these services are good. They give everyone who is not your client a place to go so less of your time gets wasted. Think of them as a blessing, otherwise you would have to spend more to identify your target market. Yeah, they may produce volume (they need to), but I think your business thrives more on quality than volume.

You have alot of people looking for deals. Only problem is they are looking for alot and pay nothing. Amazing. As though we do not have bills to pay or kids.

rofl:laugh: Oh my. . now that would solve two problems.

But honestly, it can't hurt to advertise your biz on craigslist: what's the worst that could happen? You might have to turn people down. On the other hand, you might pick up a couple of good jobs. . .

I'd say try it, and see what happens.

No kidding... I put out a major ad campaign this year with a local community magazine... www.aroundtownpublishing.com and I about ran business in the ground with all the work I got from it... I had an add in three magazines... big full page ones mostly on the inside back cover and if not there further in but not too far...

Next year... I am doubling it to 6 magazines... I know what to expect now and am training sales guys now preparing for the flood of calls next year...

Same here-have two customers that I maintain there property and have never ever seen them in two years. They pay every month:clapping: It must be the area.

Craigslist ROCKS! Thats how we got such a large customer base my FIRST year. You just need to be picky on what comes crawling to your inbox. I say try it!

just tell me what area you live in and i can post it the only bad thing is you would need to repost every couple days as it would get lost due to the fact they list by day. what i do is i make up my ads in word then once i log in to my account i just copy paste you can post 3 listings
