About 3 weeks ago. A buddy of mine has a 227/61 with the 3 bag catcher and is fixing to trade it on a 325D or a 335 big block. I don't know how you get by with the 23/61. His bogs down, even side discharging normal growth on level ground... not too impressive. My 223 bogs down a little with the 52", but it aint that bad.

I think now I got a pretty good rig put together. 52" Hopper, 42" Walker, 36" Walker on some days, and 21" Deere. Use the Hopper on 85% or so of my lawns, then everything else on the rest. Getting kinda fat, really should skip the 36" Walker and just use the 21"... but that would suck...a lot.

Nice rig, and sweet trailer. . . yeah I have the same problem with clippings/leaves - having to drop them in the bed, and shovel them out at the dump lol.

You must have a lot of open lawns - a 52" zt would be way too big for many of my accounts.

No, I have a MC 42" with 500 hrs, bought it last year. The Walker on the trailer is a 36" MS that belongs to a friend of mine.

I like your truck....

Thanks, I do too. Hopefully gonna rebuild the engine on it this winter. Knocks/rattles/clicks and burns lots of oil.

...or a loadhandler

Had one, it broke, fixing to get a new one SOON.

I dunno. Probably run it next year, then upgrade to a 95 or so in 2010. Probably keep this one around with a skid sprayer in it or something.

Ya the grasshopper bogs some with a 23/61 but on bermuda it does pretty good the thing that pulls it down is crab grass. I dont bag with it and couldnt imagine trying i dont think it would do too well. Its not my ideal machine but hey its got 350hr on it and its paid for so i think ill hang on to it for a while.

It worked great. Wish it didnt break (not the loadhandler's fault, either...lol). Need to get a new one I guess.

Because that is what the customer's expect around here. Also, it takes considerably more time to discharge, because we'd have to double cut everything.

It does great. I am pretty sure that this winter I am either going to rebuild the engine that's in it, or get a different engine for it. It burns and leaks oil, and makes all kinds of noises that a gasoline engine should not make. I just wish it was 4x4 so I could hang a plow on it.

I have pulled my mowing trailer for a couple years with it. Have also pulled a Bobcat a few times, and used it on the farm pulling fertilizer trailers that are quite heavy. When it's running right, it'll pull my mowing trailer with 2 ztrs on it at 75 mph down the highway.

that 5.3 is a tough little motor. With the Z71 you most likely have a 3.73 rear end. No bigger than your trailer is it should have no problem at all. Looks good!

I'm actually not going to use this as a work truck very often. Only time will be going to pick up equipment in Wichita, or like in the middle of summer when there isn't many grass clippings to haul away.

I would like to replace my mowing truck with a 3/4 ton or 1 ton flatbed dump, preferably 4x4, within the next year.

Guess I oughta post up some of the other new stuff I got this year. Got rid of the Z71 and got the 2500 HD. Wasn't planning on buying a new truck, just went into the dealership to practice jew-ing, turns out, I didn't need practice and was stuck buying a truck LOL. Got rid of the Walker (:hammerhead::hammerhead::hammerhead::hammerhead::hammerhead:) and got the Toro (). Also got the F250 early this spring, 2 weeks later the transmission went out. That was a fun little project changing that out. This has been a good year, think I am gonna gross about 2x what I did last year. Gonna get real aggressive on advertising this fall for aeration/overseeding, and later on, snow removal.

Looking for a somewhat cheap MTGHS Walker before leaf cleanups, 42 or 48. Also would consider buying a Meyer plow before winter if I ran across one cheap enough.

Lol it is a detached garage, behind the house. It takes up most of the back yard, and what it doesnt is filled up with my two trailers. The house is actually bigger then it looks, 2 bedroom 1.5 bath, huge living room, then average dining room and kitchen. Full basement which is nice. Definitely plenty big for the girlfriend and myself. The best thing is its right down the street from where we go to college. Of course I only have another semester there, but she has 3 more.

Got some new pics this summer, they are cell phone pics so not the best, and in many of them the lense is covered with dust, but hey, what can ya do. Will post pics first, then at the bottom answer some questions some of you posted like a year ago lol. Finally figured out how to get pics from my phone to photobucket, so it's a lot easier then emailing and resizing and whatnot.

Some of the pictures may of been previously posted, if so, just look at the others.

First couple pics are the rig and stripes from the first cut of the year on a church I maintain:

http://i146.photobucket.com/albums/r253/KS_Grasscutter/2011%20Pics/utf-8BSU1HMDAwNTctMjAxMTAzMzEtMTQyOC5qcGc.jpg

Next couple pics are of the equipment cleaned up ready to start the season.

http://i146.photobucket.com/albums/r253/KS_Grasscutter/2011%20Pics/utf-8BSU1HMDAwODQtMjAxMTA0MTAtMTQxMi5qcGc.jpg

In this picture I was mowing 1 round of native grass around the perimeter of a lawn I maintain. Because it was so dry this summer, the sand was very powdery and I just slid down the hill. Had to go home and get my ATV to yank it out.
http://i146.photobucket.com/albums/r253/KS_Grasscutter/2011%20Pics/utf-8BSU1HMDAwMzktMjAxMTA3MjAtMTExMy5qcGc.jpg

Will post some more pics after a bit.

Pretty good looking setup you got there. Do you have more pics of the garage its self? Looks to me it has two doors and im guessing one out back and one in front? Thanks

I will get some taken soon, it's snowing now so it's not gonna happen today lol.

looks good really like the 2500 looks like something i might drive.

I liked it too, unfortunately I traded it on a 03 Z71 (15k miles when I got it in August). Wanted to get better fuel economy, so I traded, then gas came down quite a bit haha:hammerhead:

Sweet old chevy, from the looks of the grille I'd say its an 84?

Yep 84. Am getting ready to sell it to a buddy of mine, he's gonna put the body on a 1 ton 4x4 frame. Hate to sell it but the engine finally gave up this fall, and I don't wanna screw with it.

Like the mower it's self real well. Don't really care for the grass catcher though. Seems like I am always replacing bags, or the cloth top, or the tube. Mower stripes good, cuts great.

Yea, I like the truck for the most part. Kinda wish it had something other than the 5.4 in it at times, but it does fine for what I do. Also wish it was 4 wheel drive so I could use it instead of my pickup to drag my ATV around for snow removal. It needs new brakes all around, as well as tires, and a set of timbrens. Love the aluminum dump bed!

I am for the most part a Chevy guy, but REALLY like the looks of the new Fords. Maybe in a couple years I can get a new body style F250 FX4 with the 6.2 V8.

Thanks! Its a Scott bed. Came with the truck. And yep, that's Jason's old Walker. How's it treating you? From what I remember it didn't have many hours on it when he had it.

The walker is still chugging along. It has around 1360 hrs on it. I use it on all small gated backyards. I love it. Its always nice to be able to chat with someone who lives in my area. Compare and contrast is nice in this saturated market. If you ever want to chat throw a pm my way. Take care and have a Merry Christmas.

I really want a 723, but will probably never get one. Takes up WAY too much space on a trailer by the time you get the bagger on there. I like running a Walker and a midmount. May replace the Grasshopper with a stander or hydro WB next time to save money, haven't decided. Still a couple years off lol.

Heres some more pics:

Lawn Boobs LOL. Got real dry this summer, you sure could tell how good sprinklers were (or were not) laid out.

Days that it is not sitting on jack stands I love it. Not terribly fond of wrenching on it, but then again, I'm not terribly fond of wrenching on anything. It's probably the best at what it's designed for- mowing and bagging manicured, high end lawns.

I hate my echo stuff :laugh: Then again both my Echo edger and trimmer are the entry level units from Home Depot. I love my 4 mix trimmer and blower, but both are currently at the dealer to get the valves adjusted, which is a problem I don't guess you have with your Echos

nope, and i think we need the valves adjusted on our stihl 4 mix hedger. they are those long ext reach hedge trimmers on a stick, lol. they are awesome, but run like crap. i have to have the idle high so they wont die. i know it is the vavle thing so i will need to get that done.

and nope, no echo stuff need adjusting. hardly ever throughout its useful life. however, we dont use the homeowner models, even though they are still considered by echo to be higher grade. we only use the largest models and have superior luck with them

Yea, next week I am going to add the pollution coverage to my liability insurance, and submit my application for my pesticide business license. After that I am going to talk to all my mowing customers, should be able to get most of them on board for applications.

congrats on the test taking skills, lol

Thanks!! I don't know if it was skills or luck lol. And about the Stihl stuff, I love my trimmer and blowers, but I think I'm going to go with Redmax for my new edger I'm gonna buy this spring. I just don't really want to have to adjust valves every year.

Not sure about bad ass, but thanks haha. You would come around on the Walker's if you had to bag every single account. Though a midmount with a good catcher does the same thing.

what are you bagging btw?

no reason to bag unless youa re removing debri, or cutting bermuda, zoysia or other warm season grasses.

otherwise, i think the mower is the finest perma bagger you can get. however, i would never have a center wheel on the rear. only would use the double oscillating tail wheels. that, and only a diesel powered, power dump model.

i super hate bad stripes, and third wheel marks, unleveled deck marks eat me up!!:nono:

Um, because everyone else here does? LOL. I do mow some warm season lawns. I have some houses with cottonwood or other trees that have leaves constantly falling. And most of my lawns grow fast enough I would have to triple cut to get it to look decent, and that's not efficient at all. Would rather just dump mower 1 or 2 times per lawn. Plus it saves a lot of time not having to do as much blowing.

It is the perception of customers in my market that bagging is just simply an understood part of the job. The only things that don't get bagged are empty lots, and **** hole yards that I (and the customer) don't care about lol.

I had 1 problem with it last year, had a wire come lose that made it run rough. Took it to the dealer because I didn't have time to mess with it, cost a couple hundred bucks for them to diagnose it.
