I had an electrician wire in a Simply Automated hardwire relay. After the lights have been on for 10 - 20 minutes the GFI is tripping. We put in an new GFI and same thing. We can find no shorts in the line and that module is only controlling 100 watts. Any ideas why this could be tripping. I opened the outlet and the electrician wired the GFI first and then wired in the relay. So the relay is on the GFI protected side of the circuit. Should the relay be wired before the GFI? Any help would be appreciated.

I would contact Simply Automated and ask them. Perhaps it has something to do with the SA module using the neutral to communicate that is tripping the GFI.

I have many SA switch modules downstream from GFI outlets and have not had any issues.
