3.14 is the cheapest that i have seen reg unleaded. I know that last oct 30th i was paying 2.25 and that was when the barrel of oil was not crazy. What the hell is going on they are making toooooooooo much money. unfortunately we still need to buy it but this is crazy. We need to boycott shell for a few months and then citgo and then mobil and so on so they will need to lower there prices just to sell what they need to, so that the stockholders are happy.

David Gretzmier

2.97 here, and yes, given oil is 88 bucks a barrel today, gas should be trending downward. bear in mind that many of us have 76-90 cents per gallon of tax per gallon, and that does not change. so when gas was 4 bucks per gallon, 25% of the cost of fuel was tax. at 3 bucks it is closer to 33%. Oil becomes a lesser part of the price you pay for fuel. most folks say the new "floor" for fuel is 2.50 per gallon and it will never go below that. we'll see.

DA Quality Lawn & YS

Also, if there was such a supply crimp, how do you explain oil dropping from $145/barrel to about $90 a barrel? Surely there wasn't a 40% drop in demand was there? (pun intended)

Way I see things, if you want sweet revenge now then don't waste it!
Don't take this little puny price break for granted.

Most of us I know, we worked long and hard to reduce our fuel consumption,
and I think they're still playing their silly little games so watch out,
start acting like there's no tomorrow we won't even get to enjoy cheap fuel.

Because revenge is about not using it, seeing how we're already used to that,
might as well keep on pushing it down, not that I think we have but so much
control over it, but why not behave anyhow it can't hurt :p

This was talked about when fuel was above $4, that is, that one day the stupid
speculation bubble would burst, however I suspect that's not all there is to it.
Opec = Oilmen Pocketing Extra Cash.

Only way we can win is by using less, keep conserving, act as if it was still $4 a gallon,
don't drive and keep conserving energy and *&%^ them punks, way to get them back
for that horse crap they pulled on us lol

Just thought of something. If gas keeps going down like this everyday, it won't be long before customers start raising hell that we need to lower the prices since we don't have to pay so much for our gas any more. Mine will stay where I have them no matter what. If I would lower myprices and then gas shoots back up to 3.78 a gallon again I would be up the creek without a paddle.

yep! i will impose a rate increase at years end for next year on everybody. it won't stay down long..just a teaser..holidays are coming and there will be some b.s. on the stock market to shoot the price back up. i'm thinking about putting a clause in my agreement, that if the gas price go above $ 4.00 then there will be an increase in the rates.

I'll be wrapping my fuel surcharge into their price this fall. And I'll put on a fresh fuel surcharge to boot - unless gas gets below $2...

Inflation is not pretty right now - and that's WITHOUT INCLUDING THE COST OF ENERGIES AND FOOD!!!!!! So they can pay my price or find someone else. I have better things to do with my time than maintain lawns for pennies...

sweetz
10-07-2008, 12:48 AM
I didn't impose a fuel surcharge, so there won't be any of my customers expecting a rate drop because of a fuel drop. When I started driving I can remember gas prices were about $1.25-1.50. Don't think I'll ever see that again.

I told my wife this afternoon that I think the reason we are still paying so much around here is because these greedy bastards are trying to recoup their losses from last month when Gustav shut down the refineries and we had the shortages. Freakin gougin NAZIS!!!! Most places around here have just dropped to around $3.60 for regular. I had to laugh today though at some fat bastard trying to change the price on his sign. The 3 kept falling off his suction cup stick. I watched it fall off four times while I was at a stop light. He almost got it right before I drove off and it fell off just as he was about to set it...Maybe it's a sign that the price should keep falling!

I don't know either Ed, but tell me this...why is it when the price of oil ticks up, the price of gas immediately follows...yet when the price of oil drops, it takes a month of Sundays for the price of gas to follow. I've been rather reserved through this gas situation over the past few years, but my patience is running thin ESPECIALLY after the fiasco we just went through last month with stations running out of gas!

Best I can advise is enjoy it best you can, it frustrates me too but just be glad,
appreciate it with all the imperfections, if for no other reason than it can and
probably one day will get worse.

So don't overdo it, keep the consumption low so that maybe it lasts a little longer.

Because I got a bad feeling it's going to REALLY rip us another new one when this latest nonsense ripple ends.

So, take it easy, nice and slow :p

By the way propane is 104 octane, and you can double your oil change intervals, spark plug probs go away, no stale fuel and no carb issues. No fuel additives or oil additives, due to the motor being inefficient 8000 hrs on kohler 20hp on scag. 1 flywheel 1 stator, one starter, 1 mixer box. 8 s/p's 40 oil changes

there is some lag involved. Remember that in 0ct 07, crude prices were on their way up, and they're on their way down right now. I saw 87 at < $3 in central KY today.

Can't help but chuckle at the investor clowns who got out of subprime mortgages and into oil futures last year, I still think they were behind a lot of this. Some of them have oil contracts at $120/barrel that came due at the start of October, so they took a bath. So you wanted to play in the volatile energy market, eh?

What I want to know is why diesel got so expensive a couple of years ago. Used to be it was slightly less than gas, now it's about 20% more.

That's part of the reason, another part is the tax per barrel is 6 cents higher, plus the world is now in greater demand for diesel fuel, and when distillate heating oil is in high demand (cold winters) then diesel is generally more expensive.

To me, I think all of that is a smoke screen. Everyone knows that by rule diesel is more efficient, so if you can get more bang for you buck than why not charge a higher price to even out the efficiency increase?

there is some lag involved.

Perhaps a little of a convenience factor too, but that's just me speculating.

This I can't understand i am hoping someone here knows the answer. Diesel is cheaper here than regular at some select stations. The Chevrons Diesel price is 3.05 and some off name stations have it for 2.99 while regular is at 3.17 I'm happy as most of my trucks are diesel. I am guessing there is more diesel on the market is all I can figure.

in Central/south jersey, gas is around $2.72-2.75 for reg, and $2.92-3.05 for premium, of course those few stupid places are 10% more still..

Diesel is still dropping too but not as fast as gas :/ go figure, but i just saw it today for $3.52, thank god, were getting close to $100 fillups again for the Ford trucks not $175+ that sucked.

I got it for 2.73 on Friday. It's a few cents cheaper at a couple places, but they're crappy gas stations.
