On september 26th, i ordered my Encore z34 from my dealer. He said he called the distributer that day and left a message to locate the one that was available and grab it. It's going on the third week this friday and still nothing. My dad called today and the dealer said still nothing but let me call you back and no call back which is usually the case at this dealer. I am extremely pissed off because when i went to order it my dealer said to me "are you sure you want it because if you don't follow through my job is at stake" Long story short he hasn't kept up his end. The big issue is i know the dealer personally. On the other hand there is a scag dealer down the street with a Freedom z 36 calling my name if this doesn't happen. Should i wait? Go to scag? If wait, how much longer? Help!

Is Encore not producing them? What's their reason for not getting it to the dealer?

Is the Scag "Freedom Z" a true commercial machine?

Do you have a Gravely or Exmark dealer anywhere close to you, they both offer commercial 34" Z mowers too.

I'd say you have waited long enough. I can understand maybe a week, but if a business is going to market a machine to sell to customers they need to be avaialable in a resonable timeframe.

They are in limited availability is how my dealer said it and thats how jim at encore explained it. The scag is considered to be semi-commercial but looks a little better than the encore. I have an Exmark dealer but it's kinda a haul from me if i needed something quick.

This is my .02, you have a business to run and you need equipment to run it, if a customer says they will pay you to mow the lawn asap and your making a good profit to do so; you mow it asap right? Now you tell your dealer you are ready to buy a mower and you want it asap, he should be calling Encore every day looking for that mower. A dealer some where should have that mower, and he should find it. If he can't get you the mower you need, what happens when it breaks? Then what? Will he have it for a month, you may want to look at other mower. If you want an Encore I would call him one last time and say look... I need a mower and I want to buy from you. If you find one by Thurs. call me, if not I will take my business some place else. You shouldn't have to beg him to buy a mower from him. That's my .02

Watch out...
I'm not saying this is for sure, but before you run up the road it might be that same BS
with the Scag, watch out for that other guy he might be pulling a similar stunt.

Not sure how good of a machine the Encore is, but it's like that with Toro,
and I went through this with my Everride ZTR as well, seems like
there's always a month of waiting in line to get my machine, too.

Oh yeah, and I already signed the papers and made at least one big payment, that
was the first thing they had to have and it got to the point I don't even listen to
dealers when they talk, I just know, now comes the waiting...

All they care about is their money, son of a gun, who would've thunked it?

But the easy answer is don't worry about it, you'll get your Encore,
I know what you're going through and it's not very nice really but
hang in there, you'll get your mower one day, as they say, soon :p

That was my original plan

If Encore is doing everything on their end properly and could easily get the mower to the dealer and its the dealer who isn't getting things accomplished I would just go right on down the road and buy the other mower. Or find another Encore dealer somewhat close.

I tend to do that, I was pretty bad about it when my truck was 35 miles away having a new engine installed. I like to know every detail if it involves me and or my money:)

I would give the encore dealer a cut off date. If they cannot have it here in a week, go get the Scags. I would be afraid if you needed work done at this dealer, how long would it take.

If I was doing the install and you were bugging the crap out of me, I'd do one of two things, charge you more for wasting my time each day, or just tell you to call a tow truck and get it out of my shop. Do you think it's a PITA when the customer stops you while mowing? What if it happened at every stop, everyday? That's what I thought......

Alright. Here's the scoop. They FINALLY got there act together and located one in tenesse. It's two hundred to ship it here so the distributer is paying 100 my dealer is paying 50 im paying fifty. My dealer just got off the phone with me and said he's ordering it now and they are getting it shipped out today. Should be here by the end of the week. Thank god i waited!

Man, wait till you need parts or it breaks down and service is the same way. I love dealing with people that think i owe them something when i am the one buying the machine.....

Hello Lil MowinMan, I would not wait. Do you have a Wright dealer near you? If so look at the 32" or 36" Stander. It is a commercial mower.
