That's a 350 full ton, made around mid-to-late 1980's, carburetor intake, and not
that it matters much but that is the basic model work truck. :)

And it could be a 3/4 ton according to the lugs, but the running lights on top of the cab indicate it's a full ton,
that and they don't make too many work trucks with dualies under a full ton.

I do like the tires, finally someone with some sense put real truck tires on.

today we replaced all the brake lines and one fuel line because we had some lks and i went ahead made a apt to have a new exhaust system put on because the previous owner hacked the living daylights out of a new system when he welded it together.
my best friend's brother works at a shop that does killer exhaust work,so I'm gonna have them do flow master from the manifold back just past the cab with turn downs and 40 series flow master mufflers ($350 installed).

Kennedy Landscaping
10-14-2008, 11:02 PM
That thing will really sound like a beast with flowmasters on it. The guy at the muffler shop told me when he put my Magnaflow packs on that it was as loud as I could possibly get it without strait piping it. But I didn't want it to be extremely loud since its my work truck. I am pleased with the sound it produces and you will be too. A good muffler can make the whole difference IMO

Be careful of low bridges. Especially in Meriden. Here is an example of what can happen when employees in CT don't pay attention to low bridge heights.

That your truck, if so that really sucks

CAT powered
10-21-2008, 12:27 AM
Yup. That one's mine.

My employee put it into a bridge within the first month of his employment.

I picked that truck up for 2700$ and its identical twin for 2000$ so it's not a total loss, although it is totaled with a bent frame. If the other one has any parts go on it I can always cannibalize it off that truck.

Pictures don't do justice to the damage that was done to that poor truck.

Anyways just don't hit any bridges and you'll be ok.

ouch thats gotta hurt!!what was he thinkin you had the posted height on the side of the truck and by the looks of it that was a low low bridge for him to hit it .i think that old boy needs to be driving maybe a golfcart not a truck.

Nope. Gypsy Lane. I was able to get it out from under the bridge and onto my lowbed under its own power so I didn't have to call in a tow.

This fella is now driving the truck's identical twin that I mentioned earlier. He is a LOT more careful about bridges now.

I hired him on to run a TD25G Dresser dozer which is the equivalent of a CAT D8. He's a good operator, but I think he might have a touch of ADD as he loses keys a lot and is always fiddling with his Worktunes while he is on the dozer. I no longer have the contract for the work he was doing. I'm not going to hijack your thread with the details. If you're interested just search for the thread "Might have to lay off one of my guys" in the Heavy Equipment and Pavement area.

I dont miss digging either. All the jostling killed my back. The last equipment i operated before i sold off my company was on a site truck. Bouncing across the 200 acre lot. I was doing a remediation of contaminated soil and stockpiling with site trucks. I ended up on a backboard and loaded into an ambulance! hahaha That was my last day. I sold out per doctors advice. I actually had a tumor in my spine. But the back injury wasnt related, they found the tumor during an mri to see what the back pain was about.

I dont mind digging, when you cant do it with the mini ex, I cant stand it when the mini ex is setting over on the trailer and your stuck hand digging out in the middle of a front yard with nothing around.
