View Full Version : Most versatile triaxle ever?

When I was at Versa-Lok today getting some pavers, this pretty 357 came rolling in. Didn't notice anything special till the driver started opening the box, and started loading some product. It has a high lift tailgate too. They haul hardscape stuff, bulk material, boulders and trees, what do you think? I'm going to see how spendy the box is.

The only problem I see with that is if you do haul boulders and the sides bend out it will affect the doors.

The same box in CND funds would be a easy 25,000 a regular gravel steel gravel box is 20-21,000.

If you redesigned the box with dual barn doors and heavier frames, I think it would great, the Euro's use them alot.

They gave me a quote on the box with installation(and tax/fet), it comes out to approximately $27,000. That is kinda steep but is the versatility worth it?

isnt it just a bigger contractors dump body?

Yah, I guess. You swing the side out not down. It is probably cheaper to just buy a regular big dump truck and run a contractor truck like I have.

Dang that's slick. I like it. Might work better with barn doors like the other guy said; probably easier to open and easier on the hinges than one big door.

Man, I'd hate to see THAT baby come open going down the road!

doesnt it have barn doors?? to me it kida looks like there is another door swung towards the cab in the pic. its kinda hard to tell though. only reason im thinkin this is there are what look to be hinges (but they could be what holds the door shut) and if you look towards the cab it apears that the paint is rubbed off like it would be the inside of the bed. could be wrong though.

Yes it does have barn doors I never looked at the picture closely but if you do look at the bottom sill off the box in the center you can see what looks like lock hooks you would find on a van trailer or a shipping container.

The drivers side has two big barn doors (picture wasn't the best-from the cellphone). The front door was folded all the way to the front. Even with the price tag I kinda like it.
