Has anyone had any experience with or does anyone know of any "central control" for more than just sprinks and lights? Were biddin on a doozy, no component too nice, convenient or digitized. We're thinking of having the SS risers gold plated, just so they can say they have it.
Thanks in advance.

Some links that I followed from WalkGood's post yesterday in the "Pics of things I've seen thread" that featured some home automation stuff:

I really don't care for my Toro E-series Osmac system. Mainly because it is one way com from the computer/base to the satellites. I would prefer com back from the satellites. I'm not sure if the "new" E-series "smart" Osmac's are two way or not, BUT my satellites offer the ability to run modular "switches" instead of control valves. Mine are all irrigation, but the literature talks about setting up the individual stations to run switching modules. The way it reads and my understanding is that these modules can run almost anything. From water feature pumps, lights, mood music, etc. If it runs on electricity and a manual switch would work, these modules will work as well.
I can e-mail the PDF manuals if your interested, but it turns into a LOT of reading to find anything.

Gee, thanks, hadn't thought of that one. Unfortunately there is not a straight link with any of those sites to ask guys who might have used such an animal for their opinion, hence the question.

I checked into this a while back and I think that the most top shelf controller out there is made by Ware Brothers. www.warebrothers.com
I ended up going with the Rain8 system controlled with MCSsprinklers software. www.mcssprinklers.com and www.wgldesigns.com
I can give you more information if you are interested

I'm in the process of designing and installing one for my house. What kind of links are you looking for ... vendor ... user ... all of the above?

I was just probing opinions, if anyone had any. Ive searched and compiled a list of those that might work for the application. Looks like its probably going to be central from a CPU with a couple different apps running.

Might call Rain Master and see who has them in service out there. I believe there's quite a few in your area.

Thanks, Eddie. Going to Colorado would be a good move, Matt knows his stuff. Plus, it'd get you closer to the guys that REALLY know their , I mean stuff. We'll be in Arizona then, maybe we could trash Matt's winter home.
