Well...

That's a little bit like my trailer, it holds 5.

But 4 is good too :p

Because 4 kinda sorta fills it, and 5 is full to the borders with a hump in center

so that is pushing it not just in terms of volume but also the weight.

So when they load it, and I can't prove this but I could swear they tend to

skimp me a bit per bucket on the 5 but when it's 4 they seem to load a little heavier.

And I would say you would get more mulch per cubic yard in two 1 yard trips than one 2 yard trip,

of course the cost of the extra trip outweighs the benefit...

Funny how that works.

Anywhere from 2 - 5 yards :) That's quite a swing.

32 sq. ft. in a standard 8' bed. And that is just between the wheel wells. 18" high.

Has anyone figured out how to calculate the extra width minus the cu. area of the wheel wells. It's a little over 5' wide when measured away from the wells. So b4 you get one foot deep in the bed, you already have 1 yd.

I would like to know for sure that 8" deep in the truck is 1 yd. Or is it 9 1/2" depth/yd.?

Thanks guys. I usually only deal with bags but my nursery stopped carrying mulch so I might start getting bulk from this big place down the road.

3 in a short bed (why did I buy that :hammerhead:)... tarp and boards... mulch isn't that heavy...

Yeah, 2 in a regular 8ft. bed with no boards is pretty much the limit - with taller boards, you could probably get 4-6. . .

length x width x height divided by 27 = cubic yardage.

How do you figure how much to spread?

There are a million on-line calculators.

I assume this was not in a 8' bed?
