If you get the kit from the dealer, which slot on that front panel is it on? Is the wiring there already or do you have to run wires from the battery/fuse block to the switch then switch to beacon?

Also how do you get the little center switch panel off... there are two screws but there seem to be clips or something on the middle bar and I'd rather not break it.

Which model series have you got? The G series had everything pre-wired, just install the swich and run the wires under the cab head cushion.
A simpler thing to do is use a ciggy lighter kit, I still use mine.

2008 S175 so should be the same as your old T190.

Ok, good to know that it's all prewired, thats what I'd hoped for. Do you know how to get that center panel between the L and R instrument panels off w/out breaking anything?

I would use the cig lighter, but the outlet in my unit is always live (rather than on with ignition) and I'd really like to not have to worry about switching it on/off every time. I already ordered the beacon switch anyway. :)

I don't think it's supposed to go there, I remember seeing an option for the panel where the A/C and fan controls are, that panel on the left side of your noggin, that's the easiest one to hook up to.

Ok I'll check that out, thanks again. The guys at the dealership said in the middle but I thought it looked easier on the side as well.

I just pulled the panel and there are only 2 harnesses there... one for the windshield wiper and one for the heater/fan. So if it's pre-wired it must be in the center panel between the hour meter and the start/stop panel.

Do you have any idea how to get it off? I pulled the two torx screws but it feels like there is something else holding it in... do I have to take the L and R panels off first then do the center or are there clips somewhere? Anyone know?

Ok, I figured it out. The harness is in that center panel, and the switch is meant to be in the 2nd from the right spot.

Now I have to find power/ground wires after they leave the harness... does anyone know where they come out to go up on top of the cab?

Above the rear window, on the corner is a knock out of some type, either the left or right side, the radio antenna is also mounted there if it's installed.

I see the knockout on the left but there is no wire visible without pulling the headliner down... The wires from the switch go around the right side of the cab but my seatbelt is mounted in the hole on the right so I don't think a wire could go through there.

You might need to drill a 5/16" hole and use a rubber grommet inside to get the wires out.
