bobcat belts

i replaced the belt from the engine to the cutter deck on my bobcat w/b.when i try to engage the blades i can only get the lever down about half way. how can i loosen this up?

Are you sure you have the right belt?
If so, there are a couple of adjustments. First make sure you have the right belt, then you have an adjustment for the idler called an over center adjustment, this keeps the lever in position. Also, there is the threaded rod on the lever itself.
What year or model is it? Tony

Did you go through and properly adjust it after installing the new belt? Theres probably a full page in the book about how to adjust the engagement system.
