Nice mower, nice stripes and nice property.

The rear wheels don't seem to leave marks either. You don't bag for fall cleanups?

Very nice Lynn! Is this mower much more productive then your Choppers?

I've got two Ransomes I acquired this summer. One is the 951D which cuts 9.5' and the AR 250 which has an 8' cut. I especially like the AR250 which leaves an incredible stripe, the 951D is rear discharge and more suited to areas where looks aren't so important. Both are more productive than the Choppers and mow slower so you don't get beaten to death bouncing all over the place. I'm seriously considering selling my 3 Chopper diesels as I'm pretty much a convert to out front machines...............Lynn

Yep, we love out front machines. We have a Deere 1600 - 11 foot mower-rear discharge, 2 - Kubota f3060's - 72" Decks, AR250, Deere f-935, deere f735 - etc....We love them

New machine is over $42,000. I bought mine with 1200 hours for $7000. I'll buy more if I can find them at that price and in the condition my is in. A super productive mower and it receives high accolades at all locations where it is used.........................Lynn

Lynn, Will you start buying smaller front deck mowers to replace your Choppers?

Apples, I've got 4 Steiners with 72" decks(3 230's and a 525)so I seriously doubt if I need any more "small" front deck mowers, but I'd buy another AR 250 or a Jake 2500 in a heartbeat..................Lynn

How do you like your Steiners? I have always wanted one of them or a Ventrac. They are my dream toys.

I really like the 230 Steiners. They are not zero turn, but have a 14" turning radius which is very nearly a zero turn unit. Unsurpassed hillside and hillclimbing abilities for a 2 wd machine. They have weight transfer to the front wheels and also differential lock which aids traction on hills. I just purchased a 72" Ventrac deck and really love its performance. They really improved on an already good Steiner deck and made it better. I'd buy another in a heart beat. Don't pass on a good used Steiner 230 with the 28hp Kubota diesel, it's a hard machine to compete against......................Lynn

Mowerman, They both are over $42,000 new, that's why I like to own the "gently used" models:)...............Lynn

Now I don't know a thing about the Ransomes, other than it puts down a heck of a cut. I am curious, if it is 9.5", how do you move it from job to job. Does the deck fold up, or what? A trailer that wide with a little room for slack would need a wide load escort it would seem. Just curious.
