here is a old tanaka blower.
does any one here collect old lawn stuff?

well look how big the gas tank is on top you run run that thing for days with out filling it. :laugh:

Thats not a gas tank. Blowers started life as means to disperse liquid chemicals. That is a tank for the chemicals.

Then where does the fuel go? Looking closely at one of the other pics you can see the fuel line going from the carb. right into the bottom of the tank on top. There's no other fuel tank that I can see.

Yes, that's a flippin' antique! Wonder how old it really is? Where's the Tanaka guy???

That is odd. You are correct. I looked up a parts breakdown for it and sure enough that is the fuel tank. I figured they might have a tank between the blower and the backpack part as on some echo models. I just figured it was a machine like this:

I too thought it was a mist sprayer, guess not.

It's running like $80 right now, too bad it's for local pick up only. Would just work it to death or some part fails that you can't get anymore. May not have the power or weight for commercial use these days though.

Judging from the color of the gas tank and marks on the starter cup I'd say that thing has 100-150 hrs on it or so. Was probably in the hands of some homeowner.
