I'm in the metro N.O. area and we lay St. Aug all the way till the end of November.

I would suggest not to, but if you can still find some st. aug. plugs at a lawn and garden shop, go for it. It is a warm season grass so i would think sometime in the late spring would be "ideal" conditions. Keep it watered pretty good to. I have st. aug. in my front yard. Planted several plugs a few years ago.

I would be wary if it was like 20 pallets... if it is only a few... go for it. I think St Augustine's root system when cut as sod is much weaker than centipede and bermuda. I don't like to lay any past October 15 or so.
