Calm down dude,
Maybe you should read what YOU posted. You stated that you only charge what the sod cost for front yards and an extra 10 cents a ft for backyards or if you have to wheelbarrow it. The $2 a ft you talked about is if there is tearout-prep-install, How are you making any proffit? Where does the union come into this? please elaborate!

Well you confirmed it greek. Youre a low baller. You give this industry a bad name. So that means you did a 65-75 pallot job for 2500 bucks?? Wow...

How bout this, how many pallots did you lay for 2500 bucks???

sorry man I just do pay all my taxes and wouldnt ever think of not. I am currently running two companys of my own. One carpentry and one with general labor and some landscaping. Ive found the at cost price or direct cost of sod here with labor and materials to be around $1 a sq ft. Where I live in ca.

What labor and materials are included with your cost of sod? Here its just grass stacked on wooden pallets.

So what you are saying is that the other guy bid $15,000 to lay 2 pallets of sod and you did it for $2500? So you installed the 1100 sq ft for about 2.27 per ft and the other guy was at $13.63 per ft. Man your numbers just dont make sense.... And I read in another post that you work at a sod shop. So which is it? Owner or Worker?

I work there home and garden shows and there the only place I get sod from since I use to work there. The home owner had called A general contractor and was over bid and its as simple as that. As far as the sod place I'm the only guy they will refer there clients to since im the only guy they will back the sod up for without checking with the owner over topsoils amendment ph levels watering cycles, etc..

Your numbers are so off. Youre not making any sense! Everything keeps changing... So the guy was going to charge 15 grand for 2 pallots??!! And you charged 2500 for 2?? Was there a coule days prep?! I think youre just making this all up.

We install for .77 a sq. ft. for fescue and .69 a sq. ft. for blue grass.. If there is any dirt work we charge $45.00 an hour if we are doing the sod because the tractor is already there.. I usually use a pull type dual blade grader to finish it out..
