I saw this ad about a convertible mower. A walkbehind and ZTR as one. How long has that been around? I am fairly new to the whole mowing thing so this is new to me but i am sure has been out for awhile.

Look up L.T. Rich.
Incidentally, when you start a thread on a subject, sometimes, you have to give it a while to get some responses. Please be patient before reposting a whole different thread on the same subject... :)

Rich Manufacturing produces the Convertible Mower.
LandscaperPro.com (www.landscaperpro.com) is a national distributor of these machines. Its main advantages are that it is a walk-behind and a rider. Basically, 2 machines in 1, only 1 to trailer and maintain.

Sorry atasteofnature I didn't answer your question in the last post.
These mowers have been around since about 1996. They underwent a major redesign in 2006 moving the engine to the back and lowering the center of gravity.

LOL. I can understand that! And thank you Landscaper Pro for setting the record straight. My mistake!:) From what I understand, these machines have had many changes to them since they were first developed. They were a bit on the chincier side when they first came out...They look quite a bit heavier, now.
I own one of the newer models 52" deck from DR, great fuel eff. using the Briggs engine compared to the Kohler. It's awesome to work with. Takes a bit to get used to driving with the controls. Huge advantage to take 200 plus pounds off right away and walk in wet areas and slopes. Hydro pumps work great walking up slopes. Highly recommend for starters, great build and versatility.
