View Full Version : Need some quick advice on a HOA bid

I am getting some positive indications on a bid for an HOA. I am comfortable with my bid in terms of total amount. In an effort to be consistent with other bids I took the total amount and divided it up into monthly amounts.

I am being asked via email, if I intend to bill monthly, that amount. Its not clear to me the point of the question. What is the norm? A month in advance? 2 months? I'm sure in the rears is to be avoided..

please advise.

Most commercial accounts like to pay by the month,thats why there asking. Also they want to know what services there being billed for Just like any other Bill. Most will pay at the end of the month. It shoul'dnt matter if you have a legal binding contract signed by both party's,you'll get your money.

The HOA only has a certain amount of money to work with so they want to be absolutely sure about monthly bills. And good luck in getting itin advance don't usually happen until 20 - 30 days after you bill. And that email might have sound simple but I guess everything that is needed is included....like fert, bushes, trees, irrigation, mulch, flowers.

be certain both parties are clear the length of the season contract though, 8 months, nine months whatever it may be.

yep that is all very clearly spelled out in the bid itself. All services including number of times a year and in what month.

The amount is clear with a yearly total, tax and it shows that amount divided into monthly amounts.

I guess that is why the email caught me off guard. I didn't know if they where used to payments other than 1 month at a time. So before I answered back I thought I'd bounce it off lawnsite.

If I had a buck for every positive feedback I got on a bid that I didn't get the job....sorry.
