Hey everyone------
I've been really busy lately with football and school, and then add on all the lawn work, it's been pretty hectic. It's MEA weekend (Minnesota Educator's Association, they hold teacher meetings, blah blah) but we get a 4-day weekend! It's raining here, so I thought I would post all the pics that I've taken recently. The landscaping is at my house, my Dad and myself completed it this summer. It's been an ongoing project because we are usually too busy working on other people's landscaping, but now it's finally finished! Enjoy all the pics!

No, I've been riding a lot lately, the seat just hasn't come in yet and it will be a week or so until it comes, and the highs have been in the low 50's lately here, I don't think she'd want to go for a ride. And she's not a hardcore-badass-outlaw biker like myself () but I think I can change that!

How hard is it to get your motorcycle liscence? My Mom always said it was really hard(when I was younger), but I'm pretty sure thats because she hates motorcycles. Is the insurance on them bad, and is it worth getting the liscence for an Enduro, or would I be better off putting it in the bed of the truck and sticking with a regular racing bike?

In Minnesota, if you are under 18, you must complete a MSF (motorcycle saftey foundation) course and then take a 30 question written test for your permit (with a permit you must wear helmet, no night riding, no passengers, etc.) and then take a "road" test, just driving around a parking lot showing your quick stops, swerving, stuff like that. Insurance on my H-D (under my Dad's name) is $102 per year for liability. Overall, the motorcycle process took some time, but it's well worth it. The MSF course is beneficial. Check your state's website and see what you need to do. Good luck!
I use the plywood sides during leaf season. I don't need to go dump every day then, and sometimes I would fill up the entire bed on 1 lawn, so this will allow me to do more lawns between dumpings.

Thanks man- I am the back-up center (our starting center has been playing center since sophmore year. He's about 170 lbs. soaking wet, but he would run through a brick wall and eat nails for breakfast, also plays middle linebacker) and I play weak side defensive tackle (our strong side defensive tackle has also played there since sophmore year, about 160 lbs. but he is as fast as lightning) and I play nose tackle against teams that like to run up the middle (I'm a "healthy" 265 lbs. during football, I usually hit the ground at the snap and make a huge pile) we had a very talented team this year, but we were plauged with injuries.

I also have a stilh/Cub dealer aboult 3 miles away!!
Ferris/Walker/Scags dealer aboult 4 miles away!!(but kinda high)
The local shop that don't even sell mowers can get me a new ferris cheaper !!
But I do send all my stuff to them when im to busy to work on it.
I also like it when I have a ??? they walk me through it!! or if a mower goes down and they have a loaner for me for free!!!

Wow thats sad. Around here the stakes are painted orange.
Yeah, he was a nice guy. He had no family or anything, so I can't even rent his John Deere compact diesel tractor with the blower, I have to use my Ariens. I wanted orange paint, but Menards was out of the fluorescent orange.

That's the thing, I have pretty much ZERO money to work with since I had no plans to do any snow removal. I just contacted a local guy who owns a New Holland LS 180 skid steer that I could rent, so I hope it works out.

Ok, so I was born up north but wasnt there long enough to learn anything about pushing snow or removing it, whatever you prefer. Why the stakes? to mark the edges of the driveways?

Mark the edges of the driveways, and if they have anything that buts up next to the driveway, I usually put a stake at each end so I know exactly where it is and when it starts and stops. Also so you don't slide down the side of the driveway and get stuck.

The gf doesn't take that much money, she's low maintenance
The stakes are to mark the edges of sidewalks/driveways so I don't rip up grass or go into the landscape rocks that some have along the driveways.
I know how to do snow removal, I just don't have the equipment to do it.
I had a bad July/August due to drought and I have enough to make my payments (truck, mowers, insurance, rent) and I have very little to spend on anything else. My grandpa does tons of repair work on small engines, so he might have an extra big snow blower for me. The New Holland skid steer deal will probably work out too. I wasn't ready for this at all, he had no signs of any problems, he just had a heart attack when he was watching TV and he was the kind of guy who was never sick and was always active. I could've just told people "no, I can't" but I'm not gonna back down from this opportunity to expand, I've never backed down from a challenge before, so there is no reason to back down from this one.
My parents are helping me out with the Harley since they bought my brother a brand new car when he was a senior in H.S. and I've paid for everything I've bought (truck, trailer, mowers, etc.)

Just talked to my Grandpa Bob, he has a HEAVY-DUTY old-school snowblower (8hp) it's a Gilund or Gilland or something like that (I've never heard of it) that I can buy off of him, and he also has some kind of tracked snow blower that I could also buy. I'll post some pics after I go and pick it up on Sunday.

I picked up some new tools today to help me tackle old man winter! I bought the 2 blowers on the left from my Grandpa Bob who bought them at auctions and fixed 'em up. The middle blower is the real powerhouse of the bunch, I nicknamed it "Sherman" because as my Grandpa said, it's built like a Sherman tank. He said it's one of the most heavy duty blowers he's ever had (and he has had literally hundreds of blowers) The machine on the left is a small and fast Craftsman snow thrower, and the blower on the far right is my trusty Ariens.

Oh, ok. I just didn't quite understand your wording. They should last, my Grandpa has been working on blowers for years and these are in great shape mechanically, and he used Sherman on his driveway last winter without any problems.

I was driving home from school and there was some small landscaping company blowing leaves into the woods using backpack blowers. I didnt look at the size or anything, but it made me so happy that I had my BR600 because their blowers didn't look like they were going to get them anywhere. Good move with the BR600. Just make sure you don't quote any jobs by the hour because you're gonna be blowing through these cleanups(no pun intended) faster than you know what to do.
