I have a mini z 52 inch with about 180 hr on it. Cutting yesterday the blades cut off.....it was like I pushed the engage button back down, but I didnt. Got it home and the 15 fuse was blown.....so I replaced it and it worked for about 2 minutes and it did it again. So the problem is i can sit there and pull and push the engage button and it does absolutely nada. any ideas????

Try a heavier fuse, 25 or 25. If they blow there is probably a wiring problem.

Go underneath and unplug the clutch, put a new fuse in, and, with it running, engage the pto switch. Let it run for 5 minutes, see if it blows the fuse. If it does, problem is in the wiring. Plug it back in and see if it does it. If it does, problem is MOST likely in the clutch. I say most likely, as I have seen the pigtail from the clutch to the Hustler harness get ripped out of the plug, or have a loose connection and melt. Remember, someone will have to be in the seat when you test, or seat switch jumped. If you have a volt meter, you can test the end of the plug even with the engine off. Have someone sit in the seat, or jump the switch, and pull up the pto, ignition switch in the run position, red light on dash should be on. Now check the leads at the clutch pigtail. If battery is fully charged, you should be at 11.8-12.6 volts direct current. You can also check your pigtail for continuity, because sometimes they look good, but are bad under the insulation. If you're not getting a reading or popping the fuse right away, unscrew your control pannel and look at back of PTO switch, is it plugged in tight?? is it black on the wiring?? There is also 3 relays under there. The orange with the red stripe is for the clutch. Some of the relays have gone bad, causing the fuse to pop. Good Luck!!
