I bought a Lesco Spreader a year and a half ago and just recently when I go up the slightest incline it starts make a high pitch sound not from the engine. I asked my dealer and he thinks it may be the pump and was going to check if it's still under warranty.
Any other ideas would be welcomed.
Thanks!!

Check the tension idler pulley(plastic) that pushes against the pump drive belt, the bearing in the idler tends to lock up from water sitting in the bearing face. The belt 9 times out of 10 will still be good just inspect it. They only sell the idler with the adjustment arm. Here is a breakdown of your unit. Your part is on page #4 ref# 21 item#709168

Good luck

Stupid question, but how do I know if that part has gone bad?

The idler arm is spring loaded internally you can pull the idler away from the belt with the arm still in place and NOT RUNNING PLEASE. You should be able to spin the idler and it will turn free and not make any kind of grinding noise. If it even sounds or feels a little raspy replace it, cause its not going to get better.
