That's one slick rig. My 150 cfm was taken off a flatbed and mounted on a custom made trailer frame. It would be real nice on the frame of a truck.

I wonder if it is a flat bed, spray rig, or dump truck 9-10 months out of the year? BUT that is WAY KEWL!!

If you can't do it with just mirrors, you're a piker.

Not a matter of cant do it, a matter of doing it faster. Getting more done in the same amount of time. Thats the reason I pull the tailgate on the 350.

I understand. I meant to put a little sarcastic smiley. Yes we can see thru the topper just fine. Or at least the tech that drives it can. Tech #2 doesn't pull the compressor with the service van. Uses another pick up we have. No topper. He's not as graceful backing up.

I thought about taking the tailgate off my truck, but I'm always worried things will bounce out.

When backing up a trailer, the smaller it is......the harder it is to be graceful.

The shorter the tounge , the more difficult. Ive towed with the van when getting pickups serviced. By the time ya see the comp in your mirror , your already cocked.

Exactly. The little 100 Grimmer I pull is the smallest of the three we own. Took me a few times backing up to get used to it. Responds real quick. And our 150 has a very narrow wheel base, which also is tough to deal with.

I don't know if I'd trust my guys pulling with the van. If a vehicle goes down, I'd probably give one of them my nice truck, and I'd drive the van.

Im not crazy about pulling with the ranger , but it is easy to see as the comp sits higher then the tailgate and the ranger isnt much wider then the comp.

One reason I bought this Grimmer, is it is very light and I will pull it when I get a Ranger. I used to pull 185s with my older Toyota p/u. Probably wasn't the safest idea at the time.

I used to pull a 185 rental with a 4cyl ranger, bent the shiit out of the bumper over a 3 year period.

Did you chow a set of brakes each season?

yep, having said that my new van is squealing after pulling the compressor around for 2 weeks, van has 15k on it. :dizzy:

My f 350 dosnt go thru a set. The f 250 always did , and Im sure ranger will need brakes by the end of the season. My wrench told me there are 3 types of pads , ok, good , best. Appears the best are worth it, as I made it all last season and when inspected in december still looked new.

My F150 needs brakes every year, no matter what. My GMC and Nissan go 2-3 years no problem.

I hear nothing but bad things about new F150s, including from my mechanic. I'm looking for a Tundra this winter.

You don't know how to drive: my '98 has over 200K with one brake job; plus I've pulled the compressor a few times.

Oh so you're the guy who drives 35 mph in a 60 mph zone? Starts to slow down 700 feet from stop signs too?

Accelerates from a red light like molasses pours below freezing?

;)

It is MY F150, and it's a '97 with 220k or so. My mechanic says he replaces Fords way too soon. Never last. Yeah you must drive like a little old lady.
