Here is some before and after pictures of a lawn that we did this fall. I'm very happy with how well it's doing so far. This yard was NOT tilled and reseeded. I sprayed it twice in August and got rid of all the weeds and then it was HEAVILY aerated, slit seeded, and topdressed with 80/20 compost to sand. 25,000-35,000 lbs.

Fortunately the homeowner has done a pretty good job watering since we have'nt had a good rain in over a month.

This was seeded on 9/23.

I should mention, the homeowner to the right where you can just barely see the thin, yellow grass (3rd pic to the right)
argued with me back in June when I told him to wait and he hired some joker to come out there and seed it for him at that time.

Although I hate to miss out on a job, I always feel REALLY assured when someone goes with a joker like that and my job looks like a showplace! Good to you for sticking to your guns!:cool2::cool2:

Looks really good. Do you maintain that property or does the H/O? Reason I ask is is looks like its cut with a 21". I just did and overseeding and areation job on a house that someone just moved into. Worked really hard on it but they won't keep it watered. I want it to look nice but they are making that hard for me to accomplish. Any suggestions, PM me as to not hijack this thread

I maintain it. I cut it with the 21" just because damp fresh seedlings and a 1500 lb ZTR don't get along very well.

As for the lawn your dealing with, it really just depends on what kind of shape it's in. If you aerated at the right time (moist ground) and you pulled out good plugs and went over it in multiple directions you will get decent results, but you can only expect so much by doing it this way. I've been able to turn around some thin lawns by aerating/overseeding for several years straight. Be sure to put down a ton of seed as most of won't make it!

I did put down plenty of seed, I don't know if the H/O will go for retrying it or not though. If so I think I would do the watering.....at a fee of course

very nice job
you just manualy spread all of that grass?
like any straw?
but not to butt in or anything i might have a solution.
i dont know if any of you guys looked in to hydrating crystals or a wetting agent,
they are pretty expensive but DEFINETLY worth it
i have a link here you can give it a shot

Wow, what an awesome turnaround - I don't know about you, but I really love it when customers actually take care of the work I do. . . looks great!
