hey can some one help me i got this trailer for free and have bean fixing it up and i was looking at the breaks and was think of making them work hear is some pictures i took of the break assumable i cant see how u would take and put new break pads on it

1. Your axle is on up side down.
2. You will not find parts for that, it looks like an old moble home axle.
3. If you hit any bump your axle is hitting the frame of your trailer.

You need a new axle with brakes.

Yep, that's a trailerhouse axle. Very popular back in the day for trailers because rims/tires were prevelant. Now the wheels/tires are becoming more and more hard to find because they are reused by the home movers instead of leaving all the axles with every trailer.

Far as I know HP Lawns is correct, brake parts will be very hard to locate unless you have a good mobile home dealer near you that has some laying around. I also agree that something seems wrong with how the axle seems to be mounted.

For a free trailer, assuming the rest of it is a good trailer, it might be a good time to put $300 or so in it and get a new 3500 lb. axle with brakes. If it's a single axle you really don't *need* brakes, but that depends on the load you plan to haul and the tow vehicle.

o no so u think i need a new axle :cry:

i am towing it with a jeep want to make sure i can stop good
