View Full Version : Gutters tomorrow!!
Going to try again, this is probably the best setup I have made so far. Just don't use it on gutters with old wet leaves.:

That pipe fits nicely over the whole blower tube (good support) and twists side to side with the blower tube.

don't you want another elbow to point down. On my gutter attachments there would be another elbow that points down so you can blow down spouts out. Unless you have that and I don't see it or unless you do it different.

Yes I keep another elbow with me. Or just blow from the bottom up!! can be messy that way though.

And with the last elbow, keep it pointed forward a bit to get down under the stff and drive it upward.

Looks like a good idea. Isn't it kind of hard to maneuver though or top heavy?

I have a Redmax 8001 and was thinking of how I can rig something up for gutters. Isnt that really heavy to lift an 8 foot piece of PVC??? Anyone have any other recommendtions for what to use??

It is sewer / drain pipe, thinner than pvc. The way it slips all the way over the blower tube makes it easier to work with. It takes 2 hands and you have to be ready for the push when you get on the throttle!

What happens if you use with wet leaf's?

This is really meant for only dry leaves. I have one customer that likes the gutters done weekly so this is my solution for them. Done every week, even if they are a little wet they come out nicely. Would not recommend this setup for cleaning a year's supply of crud.

If you want lighter try DWV pipe, the black stuff. It's pretty thin and is very light. Might try something like this myself... I'm not too into gutter cleaning, but for dry leaves, and if I have the time, and it's a good customer, heck, why not. Nothing to loose, lol. I'd use it here at home but I decided that guttering is just too much of a PITA if you have any tree within 100 feet of the house. Been there, done that... What's the point in it if it's clogged all the time? and climbing up on the roof 4 times a year to clean it is nuts.

Here's how we do ours. I do the whole roof off, including all the valleys - and getting all the sticks and stuff. In the first video, where the guy was doing it with a bp, all that wet stuff would be getting blown out as well. You just have to know to stand back a little ways, and keep hammering on it (just shaking the hose) as you walk along.

what do you do if it's a steep roof?

Steep rooves are done by hand. It actually isn't to bad, because the ladder(s) get moved in 6 ft. increments. The 180 extended tube WOULD be an idea to try for these type (steep rooves), though. the only bad thing about the extended hook method, is that you can't see f and when you miss something (sticks and such) in the gutter. This can happen quite frequently in wetter conditions. I guess you could always lean a ladder up afterward for a visual inspection. It would STILL be faster than doing the whole lengths by hand.

That's a lot of attachments hanging on the trailer just waiting for someone to walk away with. Have you ever had a problem with theft? Someone took a BR400 and a trimmer out of the back of my truck 4 years ago and last year a full gas can sprouted legs. All while parked in front of a customer's house.

why did you jack the Gorilla lift up instead of laying it flat on the rail?

Do those kiombi attachments put out enough air, to clean gutters from the ground????? I've looked at them time after time and wondered if it would be worth it.

I didn't install it...dealer did. I think it had something to do with how heavy my gate was that the cable needed to be attached higher to the gate for leverage. HOnestly, I just don't know. It works though.
As to the question about theft. The attatchments are not locked down. Everything else is. I need to work on something over the winter to secure them. Never had anything stolen though.
And yes, it puts out quite a bit of air. I cleaned some gutters with it Thursday that were PACKED. The only thing I had to dig out by hand were some dandelions that had taken root and wrapped around one the braces on the gutters. THis is a Stihl gutter kit. There are two more sections that I can add to this if needed.

I've done that before. Except the main reason I was on the roof is because of s bunch of sticks and crap.
