Just installed the antiblow out baffle on my "05 27/72 super Z and you would'nt believe the diff it makes when sucking up leave (also have the back vac) Made it 100% better. Terry

I run one on a 2003 SuperZ when mulching and/or running my BacVac and it literally makes the difference in me wearing 1/2 the grass I mow or not! As far as I'm concerned its a "must-have" if you mulch or Vac.

You can leave it on and see how it works for you, it may work well, it may not, it can range from area to area depending on the grass types and conditions.

Terry,
I leave mine on all the time, never take it off. I either mulch, vac or run a Quikchute and leave it on regardless. Granted I don't have the newer XR7 deck but don't have any probs running it when open discharging. Don't have to chase those stray leaves that "run" from blowout on that left front corner. BTW I mow about 85% fescue at 3.5 to 4".

I love the QC. Actually, I'm on my 2nd one. I had the 1st one open on the 1st "notch", prob about 30% open and run it into a power pole at my office trimming a little too close, too fast. Bent it up and back enough that I could never get it back quite right. The 2nd generation has a much more fluid feel too it and the door is quiter slamming closed.
Unfortunately you'll heve to remove the BacVac mount (it uses the same holes but just use the same bolts on both) and the little side post deal that the vac slides down on. Its only two bolts as well so it takes maybe 10 minutes too change. Gives me a good reason to clean under the deck and the opening as well. Good luck man, I think you'll be really pleased w/ the chute. The only thing it doesn't do great is mulch thick fescue like the true mulch kit but that should be expected as there are no mulch baffles. It serves me well for a good wide-open discharge dispersion w/ the option of turning toward beds, etc w/out shooting clippings all over them. I run my vac when the spring growth is heavy and wet and as it heats up, drys out and gets thinner, I'll switch to the QC to keep the clippings on the ground. Fall brings the leaves and the fall growth so I switch back to the Vac.

I have a 2007 Super-Z, XR7 deck. Sounds like you guys like the baffel attachment. I wish they would fit the XR7 deck when you already have a mulching kit installed. My dealer said it won't work! Bummer
