Received a free sample of Dismiss in the mail about a month ago. Wondered if anyone has used it and what kind of results did you get? Just wanted some feedback before I try it out. Thanks :usflag:

I think "Dismiss" is like "Quicksilver". Gordon's "Surge" is like "Speedzone" in my opinion. I got a sample bottle of "Surge" and later bought a whole gallon. Surge essentially is Dismiss plus Trimec. (Surge is better on nutsedge.) Works fast--works nice on purslane, mallow, thistle and many small annuals. Not particularly more effective on violets, oxalis, or spurge, as compared to Trimec.

Experiment on several different weeds--and also let us know if it kills any kind of grass you have in your area. Low, med, ahd high rates.

Is the cost less than "Quicksilver"?

Surge is probably the safest of all the weed killers, especially since the use rate is low--around 2 ounces per acre as i recall. For "Quicksilver" I use 30 drops in a hand sprayer. Just guessing, but I think both products are about 10 times less toxic than WeedBGone. No odor.

I did a whole series of test with "Dismiss" last summer and posted the results. Look for a post around July/August of 08. "Dismiss" is very expensive but very good. Especially good on Green Kyliinga. I use it as a normal blanket for both Yellow and Purple Nutsedge as well as the Green Kyliinga. My lawns are totally free of all of that stuff now. You've got to keep after it. Now I only have to blanket one time a year. The sedges can be greatly diminished with cultural management to a certain extent. The main criteria is that I use it on warm season grasses such as Centipede and St. Augustine. You'd have to determine the effectiveness on your own grass if Bermuda or Zoysia.

Thanks, I'll look for that past post.

I used it down here in North Alabama and just wasn't satisfied with the results. Used it primarily for yellow nutsedge and honestly had much better results out of sedgehammer. At one point I mixed it 4 times the application rate (by accident) and it worked within 2 days, but by the time I returned 6 weeks later the sedge was up and kicking. Personally for the $$ I just stuck with sedgehammer.
