Dan, the last shot was done by a Steiner 230 with 72" deck. I like the AR250 Ransomes very much and would buy another one at the drop of a hat. 8' cut, super striping ability, low fuel usage, 4 wheel drive, super quiet, and one belt(alternator)on the entire machine..................lynn

I don't know if this is my absolute "Best of 2008" but its definatly up there. It was done in mid-september with a 60" Toro Z Master.

all the pictures look great i have a 60 inch d/c with a striping kit and cannot get stripes even close to these any suggestions will be appreciated.Well there are a lot of factors to consider.

1st The grass height and the type are very important. If you're cutting Zosia or Bermuda it will take a few weeks to tattoo the lines. If you're cutting Fescues and Blues then striping is easy provided the lawn isn't full of weeds because weeds don't stand up or lay down like grass does.

2nd the direction of the lines as they pertain to the sun because all lines are effected by the direction that the grass is laying and the amount of light it reflects or absorbs. For example lines that are lighter in color are comprised of grass that is leaning away from you when viewing and the darker lines are comprised of grass that's pointed torwards you.

3rd is suction. Your mower and the blades are designed to stand the grass up for cutting, mulching blades and mowers tend to mush the grass. Personnaly Ive never seen the need for rollers. I mean i can make lines with a 21" or 61".

Lastly some yards just have poor grass, its weak or full of weeds and there isn't enough good grass to make lines. Not sure what your lawns are made up of but I hope this was helpful! :usflag:
