Typically when the ground freezes and you can't get water to the new plants is when we recommend waiting till the ground thaws. That can all depend on what you are trying to plants as well. some things do not do well if planted late in the season, while many plants can be dormant in a new planting hole or nursery.

I know my wholesale nursery closes doors dec. 1st and reopens on march 1st. Or if we are lucky enough like krazy kajun to live in warmth all year.lol For us notherners time is growing short.

I'm hoping that I can get a few more installs done before mid-late Nov. After that it's too cold and the ground is about frozen. Besides, I've got to start thinking about fall cleanups as all the leaves are starting to fall.

This time of year I get sketchy on installation of plants. I don't want a really hard freeze before some of them get established.

We also just had some snow flurries the other night, I'll think about putting the plow on my truck sometime soon.

I stopped a few weeks back, but at this point I really don't have anyone calling looking for new installs.

If you can did a hole, you can install.

That's my attitude, sometimes it is easier to do it in the fall than to battle spring(road bans, weather, cost increases).
