Just completed the custom hitch to tow this sucker around. I think it came out pretty good. This should prevent us from having to dump so often. Not the greatest turning radius, but we do a few condos that have a ton of leaves. We plow them all to the curb and suck em up.....
well now hold on those leaves might get the gvw of that truck some issues....be careful with that

That seems like overkill to me, but maybe you could put up some 10 foot sides to give the truck a little bit of a workout . It looks really nice.
How much hp does that leaf loader have? It looks like a beast.

Like stated above, we use the truck for multiple purposes. We have a can with shorter sides and we can haul our bobcat excavator and a skidsteer at the same time to a job. We also have a finn T330 hydroseeder that is mounted to a skid. We use the truck all winter long hauling snow after snow storms. We have several accounts in the city where it requies snow removal.
Here is a picture of the rig hydroseeding.....

Heres a picture of our second leaf truck. We will be real efficient this year with both trucks running. It allows us to run multiple clean-up crews, or on the larger jobs, sucking leaves goes much much quicker. I do agree its a bit overkill, but we had the truck and can, so we added a second sucker.

You just cant beat the large leaf loaders. A lot of ppl think they are over kill, but when we are sucking up huge piles of wet or half decomposed pine needles that would easily block the smaller ones up its worth it. Not to mention when you suck a pile of leaves up the size of a truck as fast as you can move that hose.

very impressive.
If you get a chance can you get a picture of it in action so we can see the size of the leaf piles?

In the first pic is that a tree tarp being used for a roof/vent? Does it fill evenly? Do the leaves try to push up over the sides of the tarp? We use a 14 foot steel box with a small vent on top near the back. The vac(120hp) will bow the sides out. How does that tarp respond when leaves are pushing against it?

That is one serious rig. Good luck with it. I also would love to see some action pics.

The tarp works great. You cant se from the pictures, but at the front of the can we have the tarp sandwiched between a piece of plywood, to try and stop so much from blowing onto the cab. In the back, we also sandwiched the tarp in between some 2 x 6's. In between, it is bungeed down. We were going to make the top more enclosed, but everyone I know from municipalities said leave the top open as much as possible, because the machine puts out so much force, if it doesnt vent well, it wont suck as well. It actually works perfect. There is absolutely no blowout, other than the dust at the top.
