retaining walls

How do you guys get a striaght retaining wall if you have nothing to measure off from. The length of the wall is a 50 ft.

Simple way a string line.

What is it going to be straight to? For long distances we might use a laser.

A simple string line is the way to go on a small wall like that.... + with the string line at 50 ft. you should be able to eye ball the straightness then use your line to make sure the first course of blocks all go straight to the end of that line....
