Just wondering what you guys charge for putting a new lawn in with seed when there already is an existing lawn(how much $$$ per sq. ft. or sq. yd.)

These are the steps I plan on taking:
#1 Applying Roundup
#2 Tilling
#3 Leveling
#4 Seeding
#5 Applying starter fertilizer
#6 Applying straw
#7 Watering in

I've already done a search and coudn't exactly get the answer I was looking for, if I was I putting down sod with this kind of prep work I'd charge $1.00 a sq. ft. so how much should I charge per sq. ft. for applying seed instead of sod?

Thanks for any help!!!

What you might want to do is subtract the cost of the sod and the labor to roll out the sod from the cost at1.00 sq ft and then add the cost of the seed and straw. Also the labor for the seeding which I think should be the same or a bit more than the labor for the sod because usally with the seeding theirs more follow up visits.

I noticed you said "Tilling". I figure you have some pretty nice soil where you are but here in North Georgia we have rocky soil. I would use a harley rake or gill blade, after the roundup has done its job, to avoid turning up anymore rocks than necessary. Sorry I didn't answer your question. I just wanted to help.
