As mentioned in another high-jacked thread, I worked a plethora of hours as a volunteer on a huge irrigation project this spring. Our community really came out with lots of support (both financially and labor) to get this done.
Here is a link to a photo album that one of our group assembled. (http://picasaweb.google.com.au/carleeashen/TWLIrrigationProjectAtDayRdFarms#)
The food was "off the chain" as the local farmers contributed food/money and a local caterer donated her time. We worked, ate, and drank till it was done!

I somehow missed the thread about this project. It looks.......... interesting. What is with going from PVC to poly? Not judging. I just don't know what it is for or why.
Good to see alot of good people get together for whatever it was. Nice job.

The PE is stubbed out at the end post of every row of grapes. We decided it would take a better chance if bumped with a tractor. The detail has yet to be worked out to change to Netafim which will hang from the bottom wire.
It was great to see the support.

Many hands make light work. Of course having a friend rent us his excavator and he volunteered to operate didn't hurt either!

Thanks. We had to comply with USDA specifications for the grant. All main line was minimum of 36" deep and since we want to later build a year-round farm stand, we dropped in 3" conduit with pull rope. That had to be separated in the 24" trench.
I was sweatin' bricks when it came time to fire up the pump. I obviously couldn't watch every joint glued so I could only hope everyone did as instructed. The USDA guy was quite impressed we finished it and had never seen a nicer system.
