Since having the business with all of these insurances in NJ, ive used several insurance companies.

Most are brokers or agents whom find insurance through a carrier, its never THEM thats the company so id only assume they take a cut for making the insurance policy connection and handle the paperwork.

we currently have XYZ insurance company for our commercial auto policy, yet we have another from Ohio for our business insurance and a plowing rider for snow plowing operations.

My insurance agent in NJ that i go through for the ohio company coverage, suggested i go through them for my commercial auto policy too. He said because if both were handled by the same company, there is no gray area if there is ever an accident, say with plowing, one company tries to say the other company is liable etc... yet isnt that what the business insurance plowing rider is for?

Now my business policy would have the plowing rider removed, saving me zero dollars technically because it would be bundled with the commercial auto insurance.

My current commercial auto costs about 4k a year.. with that said, i used to pay 5k and for less truck :/ a couple years ago before switching to XYZ company. I also have a seperate car policy through XYZ for all of our personal autos.

My agent calls me up saying they quoted me for the same coverage for all of my trucks and says almost 5k... wtf? i said i currently only pay 4k, its not even close.

He says he will try to adjust some things, "what really though"? and get back to me. Few days later/today, he calls back and says an amount, under 4k? How did he just shave 1k off the price to get my commercial auto business for the same million dollar coverage? I have to check my current paperwork to ensure it totally is cheaper than what im paying now.

Doesnt my agent get a percentage of the profits? How did it just go down 1k almost and is it because he fooled with some numbers somewhere on the computer or they just are willing to make $300 on my policy for themselves instead of like $1300?

It's all the biggest crock of thieving scammers who are making a living by
taking our hard earned money in CASE something happens but no matter
how we look at it that money is gone one way or the other you and I and
everyone else who pays a premium is paying these folks'es living expenses.

Yes, IF you ever have a problem hopefully they back you up, but all them
offices and buildings the Insurance companies operate out of are not free
and guess whose money pays for all that?

It's like the Casinos, they weren't built with winner's money :p
Neither were the insurance companies, so to speak.

Now, you want me to go into the bit with the brokers and the agents?

The agents that sell private policies have a weekly/monthly quota that they have to meet from the company that licenses them in order to remain an active agent. The quotas (dollar amount and/or policy amount) are set rather high, so often times the agent will find wiggle room so they can meet the quotas for the month. I would double check to make sure it's an apples to apples type of policy though and make sure all the coverage is the same.

:eek::eek:Do you have a lot of health issues? Somebody needs to give you a better deal! Personally, I use Nationwide Insurance who have yet to let me down; they even dropped my premium a little.
